Lone Star Conference regular season champion Midwestern State had six first-team selections on the All-LSC women’s soccer team announced Wednesday evening during the championship banquet in Wichita Falls, Texas.
MSU totaled nine selections with three honorable mention picks as well, while Abilene Christian had eight honorees with four first-teamers, one second-team and three honorable mention choices.
Angelo State had six picks with two second-teamers and four honorable mention selections, while Incarnate Word, Texas Woman’s and West Texas A&M each added five.
Central Oklahoma added two first-team honorees, while TWU and WTAMU each had one first-team recipient to round out the 14-person team.
The Mustangs earned three individual awards including Goalkeeper of the Year Mallory Whitworth, Defensive Player of the Year Hanna Staley and Coach of the Year Jeff Trimble.
ACU’s Andrea Carpenter earned Offensive Player and Freshman of the Year honors.
On the first team were MSU’s Staley, Lindsay Pritchard, Kelsey Hill, Kendra Clemons, Brittany Subia and Whitworth, ACU’s Lexi Stirling, Carpenter, Ashley Holton and Julie Coppedge, UCO’s McKenzie Caldwell and Ashton Morris, TWU’s Natalie Holovach and WTAMU’s Nadia James.
Altogether, 56 student-athletes were recognized with the all-conference honors program, including at least one player from all 12 women’s soccer teams in the league.
