DBU, Texas Woman’s, Midwestern State in NCAA Division II women’s soccer tournament

Lone Star Conference women’s soccer regular season and tournament champion DBU, tournament runner-up Texas Woman’s and regular season runner-up Midwestern State are all headed for the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship, it was announced on Monday evening (Nov. 17).

No. 1-ranked DBU (18-1 overall) earned the league’s automatic bid, while TWU (15-3-3) and MSU (11-2-6) received at-large bids in the field of 56 teams. DBU earned the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye in the South Central Region. TWU received the No. 5 seed, followed by MSU (No. 6).

TWU will open against No. 4 seed Colorado Mesa (14-3-2) on Friday (Nov. 21) at 3 p.m. CT at Patriot Soccer Field in Dallas, Texas. The winner will advance to face host DBU on Sunday at 3 p.m. CT.

MSU plays in the first round against No. 3 seed UCCS (13-2-5) on Friday at 4 p.m. CT at Stermole Soccer Stadium in Golden, Colo. The victor will advance to face host and No. 2 seed Colorado School of Mines (12-2-4) on Sunday at 4 p.m. CT.

The third round is scheduled for Nov. 30 and the quarterfinals are set for Dec. 6 – both at sites to be determined. The national semifinals (Dec. 11) and title match (Dec. 13) will be held at Weidner Field in Colorado Springs, Colo.
