Buffs Score Season-High 90 Points in 90-57 Victory at McMurry
In what had the potential to be a high-scoring game, it lived up to the billing as No. 9/16 West Texas A&M scored its third-most points in school history in a 90-57 win at McMurry Saturday afternoon. With the win, WT improved to 7-1 on the year, while McMurry fell to 1-7.
In a game that saw 172 offensive plays and 1,401 yards of total offensive combined, WT senior quarterback Dustin Vaughan went 27 of 40 for 452 yards and six touchdowns with one interception. Senior running back Aaron Harris had a WT career-best 136 yards rushing on 11 carries and one score, while junior wide receiver Anthony Johnson had a team-high 97 yards and a score. Sophomore receiver Jarrian Rhone had a career-high two touchdown receptions.
As a team, WT had a season-high 242 yards on the ground on 31 carries for a 7.8 yard average per carry. The Buffs had 452 yards passing for a season-high 693 yards of total offense in 71 offensive plays

#18 Mustangs hold on for 49-43 win over Angelo State
No. 18 Midwestern State just might have stolen a win Saturday night at San Angelo Stadium holding on for a 49-43 win over Angelo State.
The Mustangs clinched a winning ledger for the 14th consecutive season by improving to 6-1 on the season and to 3-1 in league play, while ASU slipped to 2-6 and 0-4.
Angelo State showed big play ability and jumped on the Mustangs with two quick touchdowns as Blake Smith plunged in from 1 yard out four minutes into the contest

A&M-Commerce Upends 23rd-Ranked Tarleton State, 22-20
Junior quarterback Harrison Stewart connected on a 25-yard touchdown pass to Hayden Marsh on fourth and 13 with 3:06 remaining, then Tarleton State's potential game-winning field goal attempt sailed wide right as A&M-Commerce upset the 23rd-ranked Texans 22-20.
It marks the Lions second victory over a ranked opponent this season following the 45-37 win over 25th-ranked Delta State as A&M-Commerce hands Tarleton State its first Lone Star Conference loss of the season.
With the victory, A&M-Commerce gains possession of the President's Trophy for the first time in the four-year existence of the trophy. The Lions also guaranteed themselves the program's first winning season since 2001, notching their fourth-straight win in the process

Second-Half Hounds Use Blackwater Draw Curse to Overcome Javelinas, 13-10
The Eastern New Mexico University football team (4-3; LSC 2-1) used third-quarter touchdown runs from Rashan Lawrence (Sr., RB, Decatur, Ga./Feather River College) and E'lon Spight (Jr., RB, St. Louis, Mo./Hazelwood East HS/Grossmont College) to power to a 13-10 victory over visiting Texas A&M-Kingsville (2-5; LSC 0-4) in Lone Star Conference action, Saturday afternoon at Greyhound Stadium. The game featured the five ENMU Athletic Hall of Honor inductees and was Cannon Air Force Base Appreciation Day.
The victory was Eastern's fifth in 28 meetings with the Javelinas and ended a five-game skid in the series. The Hounds last win over Texas A&M-Kingsville was a 37-14 decision, on October 28, 2006. The win also gave ENMU its first three-game win streak since a four-game streak to open the 2007 season. The Javelinas have dropped five consecutive games, since opening the 1993 season 0-5.
Texas A&M-Kingsville outgained Eastern 148-117 in yards of total offense in the first half, and held a 79-51 edge in rushing yards. The only points of the opening 30 minutes came on a 40-yard Matt Stoll field goal, after a Greyhound fumble
