The Tarleton TexAnn golf team shot a fourth-round 30-over 318 to finish in sixth place with a final score 90-over 1,242 at the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championships at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
 
“I am really proud of how these ladies played all week,” Tarleton head women’s golf coach Jerry Doyle said. “Each player gave it their all this week and I could not ask for more than that.”
 
Four-time national champion Nova Southeastern lost its 54-hole lead on Saturday as Lynn carded a 17-over 305 in the fourth round to win the title with a total score of 35-over 1,187. Nova Southeastern finished in second place, three strokes behind Lynn at 38-over 1,190.
 
Barry (+42, 1,194) finished in third place, 32 strokes better than St. Edward’s who finished fourth overall with a four-day score of 74-over 1,226. Grand Canyon (+83, 1,235) finished just ahead of Tarleton in fifth place.
 
Freshman Isabell Jimenez-Perea carded a final-round score of five-over 77 on Saturday and finished in a tie for seventh place with a combined score of 11-over 299. She came just eight strokes behind Barry’s Nancy Vergara, who captured the individual title with a three-over 291.
 
Sophomore Jessica Pickwick tied for 14th in the championships with a total score of 16-over 304. She carded a seven-over 79 in Saturday’s final round.
 
Junior Sharon Lau shot nine-over 81 on Saturday and finished the championship with a total score of 32-over 320. She finished in 46th place, just ahead of senior Jacqueline Lau, who also shot a nine-over 81 on Saturday to finish in a tie for 49th place with a score of 34-over 322.
 
Junior Sarah Fulfer shot 15-over 87 on Saturday and finished the tournament in 69th place with a score of 71-over 359.
