Tarleton State led wire-to-wire to earn its seventh straight and eighth overall Lone Star Conference Women’s Golf Championship title. The annual league event, which includes seven women’s teams, was held at Ram Rock Golf Course in Horseshoe Bay, Texas.
The TexAnns cruised around the course at 42-over-par (307-303=610), led by individual medalist Isabell Jimenez Perea at 3-over 145. Perea had the only under-par round of the championships with a 1-under 70 in the final 18.
Perea was joined by teammates Jessica Pickwick, Sharon Lau, and Beatriz Prados, and West Texas A&M’s Glory Jangthongsiri, Midwestern State’s Hayley Dambold and Brenna Moore on the all-tournament team by virtue of placing in the top five plus ties.
WT finished second with a team total of 636 (322-314). MSU was third (639), Cameron fourth (651), Angelo State fifth (658), Texas A&M-Commerce sixth (665) and Texas A&M-Kingsville seventh (694).
