LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll announced

The Lone Star Conference announced Tuesday that 917 student-athletes have earned Commissioner’s Honor Roll honors for the 2015-16 spring semester.

      West Texas A&M placed the highest number of student-athletes on the honor roll with 174 members.  Eastern New Mexico was second with 148 honorees, while Angelo State ranked third (116), and Texas A&M-Commerce was fourth (105).

      The final count included 231 students with a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester.  WT led the list of flawless marks with 42 individuals, while ASU had 37, ENMU 30 and Texas Woman’s 29.

      Women’s outdoor track and field led the list of perfect marks with 35, followed by women’s indoor track and field with 34, football and volleyball with 27, women’s soccer 23, and women’s basketball 22.

      The Commissioner’s Honor Roll is announced at the conclusion of the fall and spring semesters with student-athletes qualifying based on grade point average for the current semester.  To be eligible for the honor roll, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.30 GPA for the current semester and be on the roster.
