Lone Star Conference Champion West Texas A&M had nine total selections on the All-LSC women’s soccer team announced Thursday evening at the championship banquet in Amarillo, Texas.
WT had four first-teamers, and five second-team honorees to top the awards after winning its eighth LSC title. The Lady Buffs recognition included four individual awards. Hannah Kelley-Lusk took home Player of the Year and Forward of the Year honors, while Cheyenne Orozco was tabbed Defensive Player of the Year, and Chad Webb was named Coach of the Year for the third time.
Texas Woman's had eight selections with six on the first team, one on the second squad and one honorable mention selection. The Pioneers also claimed two individual honors with Goalkeeper of the Year and Freshman of the Year Jazmine Maxwell.
Angelo State had six honorees with two first-teamers and Midfielder of the Year Avery McNeme.
Eastern New Mexico’s Bailey Bosley was tabbed Newcomer of the Year to lead four Greyhounds recognized.
Midwestern State had five honorees, while Texas A&M-Commerce had four and UT Permian Basin one.
The first team consisted of WT’s Kelley-Lusk, Orozco, Khadisha Debesette, and Khadidra Debesette; ASU’s McNeme and Trenadey Scott; TWU’s Maxwell, Maddy Harper, Brittany Jones, Haley Ward, Libby Murphy, and Hannah Schneider; A&M-C’s Michelle Kotlik; ENMU’s Samantha Fabela; and MSU’s Imani Morlock.
Overall, 37 student-athletes were recognized with the all-conference honors program. The all-LSC was selected by the LSC’s head coaches.
