Lone Star Conference champion Tarleton State had two first-team selections on the All-LSC volleyball team announced by league officials Wednesday evening at the LSC Championship banquet.
Tarleton, which finished with a 19-1 LSC record and is hosting the LSC Championship that starts Thursday, had six honorees. Hannah McManus and Adriana Darthuy earned first team acclaim, while Amber Strange, Blanca Izquierdo, and Adrianna Knutson were on the second team, and Lauren Kersey was an honorable mention selection.
In addition, the TexAnns McManus claimed Defensive Player of the Year honors, while Mary Schindler was tabbed Coach of the Year for the fourth time.
Texas A&M-Kingsville’s Madison Brabham was named Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year.
Angelo State’s Meghan Parker took home Setter of the Year acclaim, while the Rambelles Audrey Fragniere claimed Newcomer of the Year distinction.
West Texas A&M’s Chandler Vogel earned Libero of the Year honors.
Texas A&M-Commerce’s Celeste Vela claimed Freshman of the Year distinction, while the Lions Craig Case was tabbed Coach of the Year.
ASU had four first-teamers, while Texas Woman’s had two. The Rambelles Parker, Fragniere, Baleigh Allen, and Sundara Chinn; and Pioneers Courtney Noel and Kate Ranes earned first team recognition.
A&M-C’s Shelley Chapron, TAMUK’s Brabham, UT Permian Basin’s Skyler Friel and Eastern New Mexico’s Jasmine Gannon were also selected to the first team.
A total of 37 student-athletes were recognized by the LSC postseason awards program. The all-conference honors were selected by the league’s head coaches.
