Angelo State, West Texas A&M, Lubbock Christian headed to NCAA Division II volleyball playoffs

Lone Star Conference volleyball regular season co-champion and tournament champion Angelo State, regular season runner-up and No. 20-ranked West Texas A&M and regular season co-champion and tournament runner-up Lubbock Christian are all headed for the NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship, it was announced on Monday evening (Nov. 24).

ASU (24-7 overall) earned the league’s automatic bid for the second consecutive year, while WT (22-7) and LCU (25-7) received at-large bids in the field of 64 teams. ASU earned the No. 3 seed in the eight-team South Central Regional, which will be held at Auraria Event Center in Denver, Colo. WT received the No. 4 seed and LCU got the No. 6 seed.

ASU and LCU will open up against each other at 2:30 p.m. CT on Thursday (Dec. 4). WT takes on No. 5 seed CSU Pueblo (20-8) at 8 p.m. CT later that day.

The national quarterfinals (Dec. 11), semifinals (Dec. 12) and final (Dec. 13) will be held at Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
