Seven Lone Star Conference women’s basketball teams went unbeaten last week with Angelo State leading the way with a pair of conference wins. The Rams opened the week with a three-point win over Tarleton on Thursday and ended the week with a win over Texas Woman’s. Lubbock Christian, Texas A&M-Commerce and UT Permian Basin all picked up conference wins to stay undefeated against LSC competition.
LSC women’s basketball teams are 75-50 overall this season and 20-11 against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, the other league in the NCAA South Central Region.

OFFENSIVE
De'Anira Moore, Angelo State, SR, Health Science Professions, F, Allen, Texas, Allen HS
Moore continues to be a force on the court for the Rambelles offensively. The senior scored 16 points against Tarleton on Thursday and 19 points against Texas Woman's on Saturday and averaged 17.5 points per game this week on 53 percent shooting from the floor. The Allen native registered 16 points, six rebounds, one block and two steals against the Texans before earning a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds against TWU.
DEFENSIVE
Sawyer Lloyd, Angelo State, FR, Exercise Science, G, Wall, Texas, Wall HS
Lloyd was an impressive defensively for Angelo State in wins over Tarleton and Texas Woman's. Lloyd registered five steals against Tarleton and two steals and two blocks against Texas Woman’s. The freshman also helped lead a defense that forced 33 turnovers in two games. She also averaged 10.5 points during the week scoring six against TSU and a season-high 15 points against TWU. Lloyd wasn't afraid to crash the boards for the Belles as well, registering seven total rebounds, one on offense and six on defense.

SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Maighan Hedge, Cameron, added another 20-plus point outing to her 2019-20 campaign as the sophomore scored 24 points in Cameron's win over Western New Mexico on Saturday. CU's top scorer was a key part of their 22-point advantage at halftime as she had 13 of her 24 points at the break. Hedge finished the game 8-18 from the field with four triples and was 4-7 from the charity stripe. She now has three 20-plus point outings on the season and is second in the Lone Star Conference with 16.4 points per game.
Shawnisay Millar, Midwestern State, made her first start of the season on Monday night against Henderson State and scored a season-high 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting. The sophomore was a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Then in Saturday's Lone Star Conference opener, Millar poured in 12 points on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting day. The Prestonpans, Scotland native also grabbed two rebounds and blocked a shot. Millar has scored in double figures in four of her first five games.
Carissa Moody, Texas Woman’s, continued to post big numbers for TWU as the senior guard registered a .435 FG%, a .364 3-PT FG%, a .778 FT%, and averaged 8 rebounds and 15.5 points a game in a pair of contests this past week. Moody remains the league leader in rebounding with 10 rebounds per game.
Allie Schulte, Lubbock Christian, helped LCU improve to a 2-0 conference record and a 7-0 start on the season, posting a career-high 21 points in a win over Texas Woman's in LCU's first Lone Star Conference home contest, which extended LCU's home win streak to 68 games (56 straight conference home wins). Schulte was 3-of-5 from long range in the win and posted 12 points in the opening half and closed the game with seven points in the fourth quarter (LCU outscored TWU 19-8 in the final quarter). She also had four steals in the victory.
Holly Hemmeline, UT Permian Basin, continued to pace the Falcons across the board, leading them to another Lone Star Conference victory to surpass last year's conference win total in just two games. She had a game-high 17 points in the Falcons win over Midwestern State including eight in the fourth quarter to pull away. Hemmeline leads the Falcons in scoring at 12.3 points per game, is tied for the team lead with 24 assists and is second on the team in rebounding at 4.9 per game.
Braylyn Dollar, West Texas A&M, had another monster game for the No. 17 Lady Buffs on Thursday night as the sophomore led WT to a 91-37 victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State to conclude a five-game homestead at the First United Bank Center in Canyon. The Lubbock, Texas product went 10-of-12 from the floor including 4-of-5 from the free throw line for a career-high 24 points to go along with four rebounds, one block and one steal in just 18 minutes of action as the sophomore scored 18 of those points in the opening half to lead the Lady Buffs to their eighth straight victory as they step back into Lone Star Conference action this week.
Dyani Robinson, Texas A&M-Commerce, Robinson helped lead the efficient No. 12 Lion offense in their 25-point win over St. Edward's last week. She shot 63 percent from the field, netting 11 points while also dishing out a pair of assists. She also helped lead the offense to another strong performance, as her tempo at the point position helped the Lions play at the speed they wanted to throughout the game.
Mackenzie Hailey, Tarleton State, scored 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting in Tarleton's road contest against Angelo State. The senior forward also recorded seven rebounds, a steal and a block in the match-up. Hailey leads the Texans in scoring (113) and rebounds (50) this season.
Laura Rowe, Eastern New Mexico, made 4-of-8 attempts from behind the three-point line to match a team-high 14 points in the Hounds 93-48 win over Northern New Mexico. The Katy, Texas native made three of those baskets in the opening quarter to help spark the Eastern New Mexico offense to 29 first quarter points and a team field goal percentage of 42.9 percent (33-of-77) for the contest.
Sammie Dufek, St. Edward's, was a monster on the boards against No. 12 Texas A&M-Commerce, coming off the bench to snag 11 rebounds including eight offensive rebounds. She added 12 points to lead the Hilltoppers in both categories in the game.
Stephanie Peterson, Cameron, had a strong all-around game in Cameron's win over Western New Mexico, especially on the defensive end, totaling nine rebounds and two steals. The freshman also added 10 points and four assists in the Aggies' first Lone Star Conference win. Peterson helped her team hold WNMU to just a .319 field goal percentage, which included a second quarter where their opponents went just 1-15 from the floor. Cameron also held the Mustangs to 5-20 from long range and forced them into 17 turnovers, six coming on CU steals. Peterson has recorded four of her five steals on the season in the past two games.
Maddi Chitsey, Lubbock Christian, helped LCU to a 1-0 week, as the Lady Chaps defeated Texas Woman's in their conference home opener. Chitsey posted 14 points on the offensive side and a career-high six blocks on the defensive end. LCU finished as a team with nine blocks. The block totals were the highest by the Lady Chaps since they had 10 at Oklahoma Christian on Jan. 26, 2019, and the highest total at home since they blocked nine Cameron shots on Dec. 16, 2017. Chitsey hit a three-pointer in the contest, which ignited an 11-0 scoring run for LCU in the first quarter and provided the game's final lead change.
Alexis Bryant, Texas A&M-Commerce, continued to be a force for the No. 12 Lions inside the paint in their 80-55 win over St. Edward's last week. She had a pair of blocks inside and was dominant on the glass, pulling in 13 rebounds. Her presence in the paint also altered several Hilltopper shots, as the Lions held SEU to under 32 percent shooting from the field.
Zamorye Cox, Eastern New Mexico, matched the second highest single-game steal total in program history with seven steals, leading the Eastern New Mexico defensive effort against Northern New Mexico. The Hounds forced 41 turnovers in the contest and limited the Eagles to just 48 points to finish non-conference play with an undefeated record of 6-0. Cox also matched the team high with 14 points and chipped in six assists to combine with a relentless defensive effort throughout the contest.
Alexa Hoy, Tarleton State, registered 13 points and a season-high four steals in Tarleton's road match-up at Angelo State. The junior guard also recorded three rebounds and shot 5-10 from the field in the game. Hoy's defense helped force 22 Belle turnovers and held them to just a .182 three-point field goal percentage.
