Five Lone Star Conference women’s basketball teams went undefeated last week. No. 9 Lubbock Christian had two crucial wins picking up home victories over Eastern New Mexico and No. 16 West Texas A&M. St. Mary’s, Tarleton, Texas A&M-Commerce and UAFS also went undefeated. WT wrapped up a division title with its win over Angelo State to close the week.
LSC women’s basketball teams are 206-180 overall this season and 20-11 against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, the other league in the NCAA South Central Region.

LSC BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
The LSC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship is set for March 3-5-6-7-8, 2020 with the opening round on campus (March 3), and the final eight teams at Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas on Thursday-Sunday, March 5-8. The top 12 men’s and women’s teams will qualify with seeding based on the conference standings (22 games). The divisional champions will automatically qualify and be seeded using the conference standings.

Hannah Wilson, St. Mary’s, JR, Mechanical Engineering, F, Fredericksburg, Texas, Fredericksburg HS
Wilson recorded a pair of double-doubles in the road wins for St. Mary's. She scored a career-high 21 points in the overtime victory at Texas A&M-Kingsville and grabbed 10 rebounds, while she posted 19 points and 10 rebounds in the win at Texas A&M International in just 18 minutes of play. For the week, Wilson shot 76.2 percent from the field and a perfect 100% at the free throw line, going 8-for-8.

Spurgin continued to dominate for the No. 16 Lady Buffs this past weekend as West Texas A&M claimed the Lone Star Conference Divisional Title to move to 21-5 overall. The Fredericksburg native went 16-of-30 from the floor including 5-of-7 from the free throw line with 16 total rebounds (three offensive, 13 defensive) to go along with three assists and six blocks to average 18.5 points and 8.0 boards per game.

SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Chania Wright, Texas A&M-Commerce, had 20 points against UT Tyler and had an efficient shooting day, hitting 62 percent from the field and 44 percent from deep. The junior also had six rebounds and an assist in limited minutes as the Lions picked up a 49-point win over UT Tyler.
Anastacia Mickens, Texas A&M-Kingsville, paced the offensive half of the court in each of TAMUK's games this weekend as she led the team with a 17.5 scoring average on a .571 shooting clip. She matched the team's single-game high with 23 points against St. Mary's on Thursday on a 10-for-15 mark from the floor, also her new career high, and followed up with 12 points against St. Edward's on Saturday. For the season, Mickens is averaging 9.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per game as she has crossed the 10-point threshold in seven of the last eight games, including five straight.
Ngozi Obineke, Texas Woman’s, hit a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds against Cameron, and narrowly missed the same against Midwestern State with 10 points and nine boards.Obineke hit nearly 55 percent of her shots from the floor going 12-for-22 during the week.
Hannah Reynolds, Midwestern State, reached double figures in both of Midwestern State's games last week. The junior netted 12 points on 6-of-11 shooting at Tarleton State before narrowly missing a double-double against Texas Woman's, finishing with 19 points and nine rebounds. Reynolds made eight shots on Saturday, her most since January 4. For the week, the 6'4 forward shot .560 from the floor.
Mackenzie Hailey, Tarleton, led the Texans to a 2-0 weekend with wins over Midwestern State and Cameron, pushing the TSU win streak to five. The senior averaged 14.5 points and nine rebounds throughout the weekend, shooting 52.4% from the field and was perfect from the free throw line. On Thursday, Hailey tallied a career-best seven assists along with eight points, two rebounds, and a steal to lead Tarleton to a 78-64 win over Midwestern. The Texans executed at a high level on both ends of the court as they shot 53 percent and held the Mustangs to just 36 percent shooting and forced 18 turnovers. On Saturday, the senior led all scorers with 21 points and 12 rebounds for her 25th career 20-point game and 30th career double-double. Hailey was 8-11 from the field and tallied a block, steal, and an assist. The Texans shot 51 percent from the floor and held the Aggies to a season-low 23 percent. Hailey scored 13 of her 21 points in the opening period, putting the Texans up 22-15.
Hannah Boyett, UAFS, led the Lady Lions over the weekend to two important wins in pursuit of conference tournament berth. She shot .416 percent from the three point line, making 10 overall and concluding the weekend with eight against UT Permian Basin to take an important win. She also added four steals to go with four assists this weekend for overall outstanding performance.
Emma Middleton, Lubbock Christian, helped LCU to a 2-0 week, which included wins over No.10 West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico, leading the team with an average of 15.0 points per game. Her highlight game was a career-high 26-point outing against ENMU. She was 9-of-11 from the field (81.8%) and posted 16 points in the first half. Overall on the week, she was .688 (11-of-16) from the field and also had two blocks and two steals.
Natalie DeLonge, Eastern New Mexico, scored 21 points and grabbed eight assists in win over Angelo State. DeLonge was the leading scorer in ENMU's biggest margin of victory over Angelo State in road contest in program history. She is averaging 10.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game on the season.
Asia Davis, Angelo State, put up a fight to help the Angelo State Belles in both losses to the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds and the West Texas A&M Buffs, scoring 23 total points for the weekend. Davis shot 26 percent from field, 50 percent from the three point line, and 86 percent from the free throw line. Davis grabbed eight total rebounds over the weekend, two on offense and six on defense, while grabbing three assists and two steals.
Alexus Quaadman, UT Permian Basin, set the program single-season blocks record Thursday, with four, and followed it with another four block performance on Saturday. Over the last nine games, Quaadman has 28 blocks, 3.1 per game, and has moved into the top-10 for the LSC with 36 total. On Thursday the freshman had a 12-point, 12-rebound performance for her fifth double-double of the year. With six steals last week, she is now second on the Falcons with 37 on the year.
Katie Mayo, Oklahoma. Christian, had two of her three best offensive games of the season as OC split a pair of games on a long road trip. She poured in 23 points (19 after halftime) and grabbed eight rebounds, keeping the Eagles within striking distance in an 80-68 loss at Texas-Permian Basin, then scored 19 points to go with six rebounds in a 73-67 win at Western New Mexico. She hit 7 of 8 free throws to help hold off the Mustangs.
Jasmine Williams, Eastern New Mexico, hold Angelo State to 60 points on a 28.6 percent shooting night. She grabbed 16 rebounds against ASU, the eighth most amongst conference competitors in a single game, and tallied a season-high four steals against Lubbock Christian.
Catara Samuel, Angelo State, continues to be an impact player for the Belles, scoring 17 total points in ASU's losses to Eastern New Mexico and West Texas A&M, averaging 8.5 points a game. Samuel shot 24% from the field, 18% from the three point line, and 50% from the free throw line. Samuel grabbed 14 total rebounds over the weekend, six on offense and eight on defense, while also grabbing six assists and three steals.
Juliana Louis, Texas A&M-Commerce, helped the Lions to a 49-point win over UT Tyler, as the Lions tied a program record for largest margin of victory against a Division II opponent. Louis had a large impact in the win, as she was a constant presence in the Lions' full court press, as she helped the team force 16 UT Tyler turnovers. She was also a constant in the paint, helping the Lion defense hold UT Tyler to just 31 percent shooting. She recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds and held UT Tyler off the glass, as the Lions gave up just 21 rebounds.
Alexa Hoy, led Tarleton State to a 2-0 weekend with wins over Midwestern State and Cameron, pushing the Texan win streak to five. The junior averaged 14.5 points and 4.5 rebounds through the weekend, shooting 58.8% from the field and 66.7% from behind the arc. Hoy was near perfect from the free throw line, going 7-8. On Thursday, Hoy was one of five Texans to score in double figures in a balanced offensive attack with 12 points to lead Tarleton to a 78-64 win over Midwestern. The Texans executed at a high level on both ends of the court as they shot 53 percent and held the Mustangs to just 36 percent shooting and forced 18 turnovers. Hoy also tallied four rebounds, three assists, and two blocks in the win. On Saturday, Hoy tied a career high with 17 points to go with five rebounds and three assists to lift the Texans over Cameron, 74-45. Hoy tallied nine of her 17 points in the first quarter. The Texans shot 51 percent from the floor and held the Aggies to a season-low 23 percent. The Texans forced 20 Aggie turnovers and scored 22 points off them.
Mar'Shalia Lollie, UAFS, has another great defensive weekend as the led the Lady Lions to a 2-0 weekend averaging 16.5 points and 9 rebounds. She also added two steals while also shooting an outstanding .727 field goal percentage. She helped Lady Lions hold their opponents to 70.5 points per game on .421 percent shooting from the field per game.
Callie Boyles, Tarleton, tallied seven blocks and eight points off the bench to help lead Tarleton to a 2-0 weekend on the road over divisional rivals St. Edward's and St. Mary's. On Saturday, the freshman totaled four steals, four points, and two rebounds to help lead Tarleton to a 68-64 win over St. Edward's. Boyles helped lead an 11-1 run at the end of the first quarter to put the Texans up by double-digits through the first 10 minutes, 24-14. The Texans held the Hilltoppers to 32.3% shooting. On Saturday, Boyles tallied four points, four rebounds, and three steals to help lead Tarleton to a 15-point win over St. Mary's, 70-55. The Texans forced 20 St. Mary turnovers and scored 20 points off them.
Ashton Duncan, Lubbock Christian, had key defensive assignments on the week. She helped hold Delaney Nix scoreless in their win over No.16 West Texas A&M and followed by helping hold Easter New Mexico's Zamorye Cox to six points (she had 29 in the prior game against LCU). She also averaged 10.5 points and was 7-of-12 from three-point range.
