2021 men's soccer postseason awards revealed

Midwestern State's Trevor Amann claimed Lone Star Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Year honors as the league announced its annual postseason awards on Thursday evening.

    MSU, which claimed the LSC title in men's soccer, was represented by eight all-conference selections, including four on the first team. The Mustangs also garnered six individual awards. Amann picked up Forward of the Year honors in addition to being named the league's top player. Senior James Doyle earned Midfielder of the Year honors, and Marc-Antoine Huzen picked up Goalkeeper of the Year accolades.

    West Texas A&M had seven student-athletes earn places on the postseason award list. The Buffs were led by a trio of first-team selections in Denis Herrera, Bryan Martinez and Callum Doyle. 

    St. Mary's garnered six all-conference selections, with Liam Morrison earning first-team honors. The Rattlers placed one on the second team and four on the third team.

    Lubbock Christian's Ivan Muanze-Bengono was named the Defensive Player of the Year, and first-year player Tomas Casas took home the Freshman of the Year award. The Chaps had a total of five student-athletes claim all-conference distinction, with Luca Hollenstein joining Muanze-Bengono on the first team.

    DBU and Texas A&M International had three players among the conference honorees. TAMIU's Kristian Colaci was named to the first team for the Dustdevils.

    UT Tyler's Thierry Assamoi led two Patriot players with his placement on the first team in the midfield. 

    The league also recognized 13 student-athletes on the All-Freshman team.
 
    Overall, 47 student-athletes were recognized on the all-conference team. The honors were selected by the LSC's head coaches.
