Three Lone Star Conference women’s basketball programs are still undefeated this season, as No. 10 Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas A&M International and Western New Mexico all continued their perfect starts. Preseason No. 1 Lubbock Christian picked up a pair of wins over nationally-ranked programs including, No. 3 Lander and No. 20 Daemen.
LSC women’s basketball teams are 35-28 overall and 20-11 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the other conference in the South Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Allie Schulte, Lubbock Christian, SR, Humanities, G, Nazareth, Texas, Nazareth HS
Schulte played a significant role for LCU in home wins over No. 1 Lander and No. 20 Daemen to extend the Lady Chaps Division II record home win streak to 93 games. In the win top-ranked Lander, the Lady Chaps overcame a 10-point deficit in the final seven minutes at the free-throw line, hitting 30-of-31 (96.8%) as a team in the game. Allie Schulte was successful on all 10 free throw attempts, matching an LCU Rip Griffin Center record. Schulte also helped LCU to a big win over Daemen, posting the final six points of the first quarter to spark a 15-2 run, which allowed the Lady Chaps to never trail in the contest. In addition to averaging 14.5 points per game, Schulte averaged a +15.5 plus/minus, with a +23 in their win over Daemen.
DEFENSIVE
Grace Foster, Lubbock Christian, FR, Management Information Systems, F, Childress, Texas, Childress HS
LCU held a pair of Elite Eight and nationally ranked programs to a combined 35.4 percent shooting and 54.5 points a game during a 2-0 week with a 76-62 win over No. 3 Lander, and a 62-37 win over No. 20 Daemen. Foster led LCU in rebounding on the week, with an average of 6.5 rebounds per game. She had eight rebounds and two blocks against Lander and followed with 8 points, five rebounds and a steal against Daemen, and helped lead a defensive unit that held Daemen to 28.6 percent shooting from the floor.

SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Sadie Moyer, Texas Woman’s, has been integral in the Pioneers’ 3-1 start to the season. Moyer dropped a season-high 21 points against East Central to open the week. In the second game of the week, she finished with 16 points, as TWU defeated Southeastern Oklahoma State in overtime. Moyer was also perfect from the free throw line, hitting all 10 of her attempts, as the Pioneers split the week 1-1.
Rai Brown, Texas A&M International, was an offensive force for the Dustdevils in their 67-53 victory over New Mexico Highlands in their lone game of the week. Brown scored 23 points on 10-for-15 shooting while adding seven rebounds, an assist, a block and a steal. In two games thus far, Brown is averaging 21 points, 5.5 rebounds and three steals.
Juliana Louis, Texas A&M-Commerce, shot 6-for-9 from the field to lead the No. 6 Lions to a come-from-behind win at Ouachita Baptist, the Lions’ first road win in Arkadelphia. Louis had five offensive rebounds to help the Lions score 20 second-chance points. She had 10 total rebounds in the game to go along with her 14 points.
Liah Davis, UT Tyler, led the Patriots by averaging 20 points and 9 rebounds over the first two games of the season. She established a season-high with 26 points and 14 rebounds against Henderson State on Saturday. Davis added five assists and five blocks over the week as the Patriots went 1-1.
Taylor Cockerill, St. Edward's, was outstanding in her first weekend on the Hilltop, averaging 15 points while also leading SEU in assists in just 26 minutes per game. In addition, she shot an impressive 64.3 percent from the floor, and 50 percent from three-point range as the Hilltoppers secured two wins.
Georgia Ohiaeri, Texas A&M-Kingsville, delivered a win for the Javelinas over UC Colorado Springs in thrilling fashion. Her last-second, buzzer-beating layup sent the Blue and Gold to a 59-57 win over the Mountain Lions on the road trip to the Rockies. She finished the game with 13 points on a 6-for-8 clip from the floor, along with five rebounds and two steals. She also tallied eight points while shooting 4-for-9 in the loss to MSU Denver the day before. She is second on the team with 8.7 points per game on a .462 shooting clip to go with a 3.7 rebounding average.
Brooklin Bain, Oklahoma Christian, recorded a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds in the Lady Eagles’ season opener. Bain made 10-of-15 field-goal attempts and added four assists for OC.
Clara Fernandez, Texas A&M International, was a do it all player for the Dustdevils in their 67-53 win over New Mexico Highlands. Fernandez finished the game with seven points but contributed on the boards, finishing with a game-high 13 (five offensive, eight defensive) while adding four steals, along with three assists. Through two games thus far, Fernandez is averaging 10 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Sammie Dufek, St. Edward’s, averaged five blocks per game this week for a team-high 10 blocks while also recording four steals which was tied for second on the team. She made the most of her time on the court, averaging 21.5 minutes per game.
Agang Tac, Texas Woman's, grabbed a combined 12 rebounds this week and grabbed four steals to lead the Pioneers to a 1-1 record on the week.
Montse Gutierrez, UT Tyler, helped lead a Patriots defense that is only giving up 66.0 points per game through two games. She grabbed a season-high seven rebounds against Henderson State and added one block in the game. Gutierrez is currently tied for the team lead in defensive rebounds with 11 and is leading the team in steals with three. She added an additional 9.5 points per game on 46.7% shooting from the floor to be third and fourth on the team in those categories, respectively.
