Rams end season in the quarterfinals with loss to Mines
 
Angelo State fell just short in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II Football Championship, falling to top-seeded and No. 9-ranked Colorado Mines 34-26 at Marv Kay Stadium on Saturday.
 
The Rams close out a historic season, advancing to the third round of the national tournament for only the second time in program history, and tallying 11 wins, the most since the 1989 campaign...Complete Release
 

UTPB drops close game in first bowl game
 
Playing in the first bowl football game in UT Permian Basin history, freshman receivers Jordan Smart and Marcus Molina combined for 13 catches, 235 yards, and a pair of scores as the Falcons nearly completed the largest comeback in program history at the Fun Town RV Heritage Bowl against Oklahoma Baptist, who won 24-21.
 
Trailing 24-7 in the fourth quarter, Clayton Roberts and the offense found their form and got things going.  Roberts got things going with a nine-yard completion to Smart before Kevin Young Jr. rumbled for eight to get just outside the red zone.  Three plays later the Falcons faced fourth down from the Bison 25.  Roberts found Smart in the corner of the end zone for the score...Complete Release
