Seven Lone Star Conference women’s basketball programs recorded perfect weeks, including St. Edward’s, Texas A&M International, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas Woman’s and West Texas A&M all of which were 2-0. Cameron and Midwestern State were the other teams to have perfect weeks. TAMIU and No. 5 Texas A&M-Commerce are the only remaining unbeaten teams this season.
LSC women’s basketball teams are 64-54 overall and 22-13 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the other conference in the South Central Region.

OFFENSIVE

Brown continued her incredible start as a Dustdevil, helping lead TAMIU to victories over Angelo State and UT Permian Basin. In Thursday's 98-67 win over ASU, Brown scored 32 points on 14-of-19 shooting and collected a game-high seven rebounds. She came just five points shy of the program record of 37 points in her 30 minutes on the floor. In Saturday's 65-56 win over the Falcons, Brown scored 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting in 26 minutes. She added six rebounds and five steals to help lead TAMIU to its best start in program history at 6-0. Following her performances last week, Brown is No. 1 in all of NCAA Division II in field goal percentage at 67.5 percent and ranks second in the LSC in scoring, averaging 21.8 points per game.

Brielle Woods, Texas Woman’s, JR, General Studies, G, DeSoto, Texas, DeSoto HS
Woods, the starting point guard for Texas Woman’s, had a significant role in the Pioneers 2-0 week. On Thursday against UAFS, the Pioneers held the Lions scoreless for the entire third quarter, with Woods playing a significant role in holding the Lions to just 24 percent from the field. Woods recorded five steals and grabbed a season-high seven rebounds to go along with 11 points in the Pioneers' 36-point win. Against Oklahoma Christian, the junior recorded one steal and three rebounds to accompany her eight points as TWU beat the Lady Eagles by 19. The Pioneers held their opponents to an average of just 44 points and 27.8 percent shooting from the field. Additionally, TWU forced 26 turnovers per game, pressing their opponents into 52 total turnovers.

SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Sadie Moyer, Texas Woman's, has been a consistent playmaker and contributed massively to the Pioneers' 6-2 start to the season. This week, in mandated nonconference against two LSC opponents, TWU went undefeated 2-0. Moyer continued her streak of scoring double-digit points in every contest this season. She was integral in the Pioneers' 36-point win over UAFS, scoring 14 points in the win. On Saturday, Moyer returned to her home state of Oklahoma and tied her season-high with 21 points on 5-7 shooting from behind the arc. In addition, she added career-highs of six assists and three steals. Moyer is currently the Pioneers' leading scorer, averaging 15.9 points on the
Morgan Lenahan, Midwestern State, propelled Midwestern State to a 71-68 last-second win over Oklahoma Christian. The guard posted 28 points in her best performance of the season. She went 9-16 from the field for a 56.3 field goal percentage. Lenahan's five makes from deep were the most in a single game since transferring to MSU while only missing two attempts. The graduate was perfect from the line going 5-5. She added nine rebounds and three steals to the night.
Sammie Dufek, St. Edward’s, was outstanding in limited action this week, leading SEU in scoring and blocks and was second on the team in rebounds. Dufek posted six blocks in a win against Schreiner. She averaged 13 points per game in just 23.5 minutes per game.
Kate Bradley, Oklahoma Christian, continued the strong start to her collegiate career, averaging 16 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1.5 steals per game and shooting 5-of-13 (38.5 percent) from 3-point range as Oklahoma Christian lost to Midwestern State and Texas Woman's. She scored a career-high 19 points against TWU.
Mia Cherry, Texas A&M-Kingsville, anchored a stringent Javelina defense that allowed only 48 points per game and held its opponents to a .296 shooting percentage, including a .178 clip from beyond the arc. During Thursday's 61-53 win over UT Permian Basin, she put away 14 points, grabbed four rebounds and recorded a steal as the defense held the Falcons to a .313 shooting percentage and a 3-for-22 mark from beyond the arc. She followed that performance up with 15 points and a game-high four steals in the 61-43 win over Angelo State that snapped a nine-game losing streak to the Rambelles while limiting ASU to a .276 percentage from the floor, going only 5-for-23 from beyond the arc. Through eight games, the Javelina defense is third-best in the LSC at 57 points allowed per game and tops the league with a .210 opponent field goal percentage from beyond the arc.
Clara Fernandez, Texas A&M International, was a do it all player for the Dustdevils in their two victories against Angelo State and UT Permian Basin. In a 98-67 win over the Rambelles, Fernandez scored nine points and added four rebounds, four assists and two steals. She followed that up in Saturday's 65-56 win over the Falcons with 20 points, five rebounds (all defensive), two assists and two steals.
Brooklin Bain, Oklahoma Christian, recorded a career-high tying17 rebounds in a 71-68 loss to Midwestern State, marking the most rebounds by an LSC player this season.
Hannah Reynolds, Midwestern State, with six blocks in Midwestern State's 71-68 win over Oklahoma Christian. The senior almost surpassed her eight-block record in the feat. Reynolds added nine rebounds and four assists on the night. The forward posted four points and one steal in 36 minutes.
