Samsung LSC Alumni Spotlight: TAMUC’s Will Cureton

Accomplishments at TAMUC:
  • Quarterback of the 1972 National Championship Lion football team (one of only two National Championship Football teams in school history)

Statistics:
  • Career: 253-of-601 passing for 3,494 yards, 16 TDs
  • 1,529 passing yards in 1972 national championship season
 
Where they are now: Cureton graduated from East Texas State University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He was a member and President of Kappa Alpha Fraternity.  Following graduation, he entered a career in the NFL, playing for the Cleveland Browns. He retired from professional football in 1976 to pursue a public accounting career in Dallas. Since then Cureton has had a successful real estate career all over the United States and in his home of Dallas. He has served his University as an ambassador, on the foundation board, as distinguished alumni, was a 1993 inductee to the Lion Athletics Hall of Fame and continues as an advocate for the school and its students.
