The Lone Star Conference announced that 2,146 student-athletes have received recognition for their academic achievements during the 2020-21 spring semester with places on the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
UT Tyler had a league-high 185 students recognized for their academic achievements. Angelo State was second with 161 honorees, followed by Texas A&M-Commerce with 158 in third and UT Permian Basin with 156 in fourth. West Texas A&M ranked fifth among LSC institutions with 152 honor roll members.
Of the 2,146 honorees, 698 (32.5%) earned a perfect 4.0 GPA for the spring semester. UTT again led the way with 73 student-athletes completing a flawless semester, followed by ASU with 63. TAMUC had the third-highest number of 4.0 GPAs with 59, trailed by UTPB with 49 and Lubbock Christian and Texas A&M-Kingsville with 46.
Women’s Soccer had an LSC leading 100 student-athletes earn perfect GPAs, followed by softball (85), volleyball (65) and women’s basketball (64).
The Commissioner’s Honor Roll is announced at the conclusion of the fall and spring semesters with student-athletes qualifying based on grade point average for the current semester. To be eligible for the honor roll, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.30 GPA for the current semester and be on the roster.
