West Texas A&M's Maria-Frances Serrant took home three honors, including the Lone Star Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Year title as the league announced its annual postseason awards on Thursday evening.
The all-conference honors and individual awards were selected by LSC head coaches.
DBU, the 2022 LSC Champions in women's soccer, was represented by a trio of first-team selections on both the first and second teams and two on the third team, leading the league with eight all-conference picks. Parker Coe was named the LSC Freshman of the Year, and head coach Marcus Wood was named the LSC Coach of the Year in his first season at the helm of the nation's No. 1 team.
Angelo State and WT had six student-athletes receive places on the all-conference list. The Rambelles were led by first-team selections Kira Miller, Cassidy Hill and Katelin Heise. Miller and Hill were also recognized with individual awards, earning Goalkeeper and Defensive Player of the Year honors, respectively. The Lady Buffs placed three standouts on the first team, with Frances-Serrant, Asha James and Emily Avila landing on the top team. Frances-Serrant not only earned Player of the Year acknowledgment, but she also garnered Forward of the Year and Newcomer of the Year distinction. In addition, James merited the LSC Midfielder of the Year award.
Lubbock Christian and St. Mary's placed four student-athletes on the all-conference teams. Lady Chap sophomore Lexi De La Cruz collected first-team esteem. Rattler duo Juni Ejere and Megan Copeland represented StMU among the league's top 13 standouts.
Midwestern State's Lexi Beck acquired first team esteem, one of two Mustangs to gather all-conference honors.
St. Edward's obtained three selections, followed by Oklahoma Christian and UT Tyler with two and Texas A&M International and Texas Woman's with one.
The league also distinguished 13 student-athletes on the All-Freshman team, led by three first-year players from DBU, two from ASU, LCU, SEU and StMU and one from MSU and Oklahoma Christian.
Overall, 46 student-athletes were decorated on the all-conference team.
