Five Lone Star Conference teams – DBU, Eastern New Mexico, Texas Woman's, UT Tyler, and West Texas A&M – were undefeated last week.
LSC volleyball teams are 241-238 overall this season. The squads are currently 13-14 combined against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, the other league in the NCAA Division II South Central Region.

LSC VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
The top eight teams are set for the annual Lone Star Conference Volleyball Championship, which will be held November 10-11-12 in Canyon, Texas.
West Texas A&M is the top seed and host after capturing the program’s 20th LSC Championship with a perfect 16-0 record to mark the 17th time overall they have finished the league season unbeaten since 1986.
The single-elimination tournament consists of four first-round matches on Thursday, followed by two semifinal games on Friday evening and the championship match on Saturday at 4 p.m.
Action starts on Thursday at 12 p.m. with No. 3 Texas A&M International against No. 6 St. Mary's followed by No. 2 DBU versus No. 7 UAFS at 2:30 p.m. No. 4 UT Tyler meets No. 5 Texas A&M-Kingsville at 5 p.m., while No. 1 West Texas A&M faces No. 8 Angelo State in the 7:30 p.m. match.

OFFENSIVE

Koele led the Lady Patriots to a pair or road wins at Angelo State and UT Permian, totaling a team-high 30 kills and averaging 4.29 kills per set. In a three-set sweep of ASU, Koele compiled a game-high 17 kills. On Saturday, Koele posted a .414 hitting percentage and registered 13 kills to help DBU secure a second place finish in the Lone Star Conference standings. Koele finished week with a team-high 31.5 points and posted a .300 hitting percentage in DBU's two matches.
DEFENSIVE
Torrey Miller, West Texas A&M, JR, Biology, Outside Hitter, Brownwood, Texas, Brownwood HS
Miller registered dominating performances on both sides of the ball as the Lady Buffs secured their 20th LSC regular season title with victories over Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M International to complete a perfect 16-0 league record. The junior recorded two straight double-doubles on the weekend bringing her career total to 44. She had a team-high 29 (4.14/set) kills on the weekend while recording the second most digs with 27 (3.86/set) to go along with four blocks, one service ace and two assists. She helped WT held TAMIU to a .045 hitting percentage in the sweep.
SETTER
Lauryn Burt, DBU, SR, Masters of Liberal Arts, Setter, Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS
Burt averaged 9.7 assists per set for a Lady Patriot team that hit .320 for the week in wins at Angelo State and UTPB. With her 67 assists in DBU's two matches, Burt eclipsed 1,000 assists for the year. Burt also totaled 12.5 points as the Lady Patriots secured the No. 2 spot in the Lone Star Conference standings.
