The Lone Star Conference volleyball season has started with teams competing in non-conference contests. Six teams began the year 3-1.
LSC volleyball teams are 29-39 overall this season. The squads are currently 5-7 combined against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, the other league in the NCAA Division II South Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
AJ Koele, DBU, SR, Master of Liberal Arts, Outside Hitter, The Woodlands, Texas, The Woodlands HS
DBU's AJ Koele led the Lady Patriots to a pair of wins at the Hilltopper Classic over the weekend after leading the team in kills (75) and points (81.5). In DBU's four sets, Koele averaged a team-best 5.36 kills per set and posted a .292 hitting percentage. She recorded double-digit kills in all four matches including 24 versus Harding with two double-doubles. Koele also contributed a team-high 11 blocks in the tournament.
DEFENSIVE
Morgan Demuth, Oklahoma Christian, SO, Computer Engineering, Middle Hitter, Mansfield, Texas, Mansfield HS
Demuth led the conference with 24 blocks in a 3-1 opening weekend for Oklahoma Christian. She averaged 1.71 blocks per set and 2.50 digs per set as the Eagles held opponents to a .097 hitting percentage. Demuth had nine blocks in the three-set win over Westminster.
SETTER
Emma Lade, Texas A&M International, FR, Biology, Setter, Howard Lake, Minn., Mayer Lutheran HS
Lade opened her TAMIU career in record setting fashion, helping lead the Dustdevils to a 3-1 weekend at the Northwest Nazarene Tournament. Lade finished the weekend with 172 assists to lead the LSC, including 64 assists in a 3-2 win over Northwest Nazarene to set the program record for assists in a five-set match. Lade averaged 11.46 assists per set, best in the conference opening weekend. She also led the team with seven service aces and helped TAMIU to a .259 hitting percentage.
