PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Daniel Gutierrez, Oklahoma Christian, FR, General Studies, MF, Oklahoma City, Okla.
Gutierrez scored two goals, one a game-winner against Southwest Baptist, as the Eagles picked up a pair of wins to move to 4-0 on the season. His brace against SBU pushed his total to six on the season, which is tied for the Division II lead through the first two weeks. It also marks the highest goals scored in a season by a freshman in OC’s Division II era. The Oklahoma City native has scored his six goals on six shots and totaled a league-high 12 points so far in 2022.

DEFENSIVE
Anthony Perea, West Texas A&M, JR, Business, DEF, Frisco, Texas, Lone Star HS
Perea helped the Buffs win their first match of the season over Seattle Pacific, who is receiving votes in the Division II poll, and anchored a defense that earned a 0-0 draw on the road at Western Washington. In the Buffs' draw against WWU, the junior helped shutter the Vikings' offense as the Buffs held them to just three shots on target. Against SPU, Perea scored the Buffs' first goal on a penalty kick in the 40th minute to pull the game level and helped keep the Falcons out of goal in the game's final minutes to preserve the win.

GOALKEEPER
Robin Verhoeven, Texas A&M International, JR, Kinesiology, GK, Deurne, Netherlands,
Verhoeven picked up his first shutout as a Dustdevil, helping TAMIU to a 1-0 victory over NCAA Division I opponent UT Rio Grande Valley. Verhoeven faced 19 shots stopping 7-of-8 the Vaqueros placed on the frame. Verhoeven and the Dustdevils picked up their first win of the season with the victory.
