Angelo State, DBU, Lubbock Christian and St. Mary’s were each unbeaten in Lone Star Conference games last week.
LSC games continue with each team playing a double round-robin schedule within their eight-team division. Additionally, teams will play eight crossover contests against teams from the opposite division for a total of 22 conference games.
The LSC Men’s Basketball Championship will feature an eight-team field in 2023 with seeding based on the 22 conference games. The divisional winners will receive the top two seeds in the tournament. The championships are set to take place March 2-3-4-5, 2023, at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
LSC men’s basketball teams are 186-149 overall and 17-17 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the other league in the South Central Region.

OFFENSIVE
Kevon Godwin, Angelo State, JR, Interdisciplinary Studies, Guard, Blountstown, Fla., Blountstown HS
Godwin was the focal point of a Rams offense that went 3-0 this past week, with all three games being decided by one possession or less. On the road against UT Permian Basin, he scored 30 points on 10-of-19 shooting, his second 30-point game in LSC play this season. Godwin had 14 points versus Eastern New Mexico. Then against Western New Mexico scored 21 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field, including the game-winner with 4.1 seconds left to keep the Rams undefeated on their home court this season and extend their winning streak to nine games.

Ewuzie helped the Rattlers win a pair of pivotal road contests, handing Texas A&M Kingsville its first loss in division action on Saturday after winning at Texas A&M International on Thursday. The Rattlers defense held the Javelinas to its lowest scoring output (59 points) and shooting percentage (27.4%) of the year. Ewuzie tallied six blocked shots on the weekend and 12 of his 13 rebounds were on the defensive end of the floor, limiting second-chance opportunities. He was also extremely efficient, shooting 75 percent from the floor. The big man also collected two steals, five assists and only one turnover in 53 minutes.
