Angelo State, Lubbock Christian, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas Woman's, and UT Tyler each went 2-0 in Lone Star Conference contests last week. TWU remains unbeaten in conference (14-0) and divisional play (8-0).
LSC games continue this week with each team playing a double round-robin schedule within their eight-team division. Additionally, teams will play eight crossover competitions against teams from the opposite division for a total of 22 conference games.
The LSC Women’s Basketball Championship will feature an eight-team field in 2023 with seeding based on the 22 conference games. The divisional winners will receive the top two seeds in the tournament. The championships are set to take place March 2-3-4-5, 2023, at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
LSC women’s basketball teams are 175-155 overall and 22-16 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the other league in the South Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Grace Foster, Lubbock Christian, SO, Management Information Systems, Forward, Childress, Texas, Childress HS
Foster helped LCU to their first weekend road sweep of the season, as they topped Midwestern State and Cameron. Foster led LCU in scoring in each game, posting 12 points at MSU and 23 points at CU. In LCU's win at Cameron, Foster's performance was vital. With LCU leading 25-23 in the second quarter at CU, Foster personally went on a 5-0 run and tallied seven points in a three-minute span to finish the half with 15 points. In the fourth quarter and with LCU leading by a possession as four minutes remained, Foster tallied a pair of points to make it a two-possession game and then scored the final six LCU points of the game for eight points in the quarter to clinch the win. She also averaged 4.5 rebounds a game and shot .500 from the field on the week.
DEFENSIVE
Georgia Ohiaeri, Texas A&M-Kingsville, JR, Psychology, Forward, Las Vegas, Nevada, Bishop Gorman HS
Ohiaeri helped the Javelinas to a pair of victories over St. Edward's and St. Mary's as the team led the league in scoring defense for the second consecutive week. She posted a double-double against SEU, scoring 13 points with 10 rebounds, ahead of an eight-point and five rebound effort in the matchup with StMU. Ohiaeri swatted two shots while anchoring a defense that allowed an average of 40.5 points over the weekend while holding teams to just 25.8% shooting and 17.1% from beyond the arc.
