Angelo State and West Texas A&M sit atop the standings with 9-1 LSC records. Last weekend, ASU swept the Saints – Edward's and Mary's – while West Texas A&M handed UAFS its first conference loss and and upended Oklahoma Christian. UAFS moved to third (7-1) ahead of DBU (9-2) and Texas A&M-Kingsville (6-2).

The October 23 AVCA/Taraflex Division II Top 25 poll lists West Texas A&M #5 for a fifth consecutive week. Angelo State is among teams receiving votes.

LSC teams carry a combined 77-50 (.606) record against NCAA Division II opponents through matches of October 23 and includes a 17-9 mark versus South Central Region rival Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. ... The LSC is 9-0 vs. South and 4-0 vs. Southeast Region conferences, 9-2 against Midwest Region opponents, and 34-31 against the Central Region.

Outside hitter Brylee Peterson hit .403 in the UT Tyler four-set road wins over Texas Woman's and Midwestern State and keyed an offense that hit a combined .245. The sophomore averaged 3.75 kills per set, going for 30 kills on 62 swings with five hitting errors and totaled 31.0 points for the weekend.
DEFENSIVE
Daylee Doggett, DBU, Defensive Specialist, Jr., Psychology, Justin, Texas (Northwest HS)
Defensive specialist Daylee Doggett led Dallas Baptist in road wins over Midwestern State and Texas Woman's holding the pair to a combined .170 attack percentage. Doggett averaged 5.33 digs in the two sweeps committing one reception error in 34 reception attempts.
SETTER
Laney Dale, Angelo State, Setter, Sr., Management, Brock, Texas (Brock HS)
Senior Laney Dale averaged a double-double for Angelo State in sweeps over St. Edward's and St. Mary's. Against SEU, Dale had 23 assists, 13 digs, and three service aces, then came back with a 24-assist, 17-dig performance versus St. Mary's. The setter averaged 7.83 assists as the ASU offense posted a .268 attack for the weekend.
