West Texas A&M to play for men’s basketball regional title

West Texas A&M will play for the South Central Regional men’s basketball title on its home floor. The top-seeded Buffs will take on No. 6 seed Black Hills State on Tuesday (March 14) at 7 p.m. CT at First United Bank Center in Canyon, Texas. The winner will go to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.
 
WT (27-6) advanced to the title tilt with wins over fellow Lone Star Conference teams, No. 8 seed Texas A&M-Kingsville (78-56) and No. 4 seed Angelo State (69-59 in a conference tournament championship game rematch). Black Hills State (27-5) got to the championship game with upset wins over No. 3 seed Colorado School of Mines (68-48) and No. 2 seed Fort Lewis (81-66).
 
The regional title tilt will feature LSC Player of the Year Julius Brown, LSC Newcomer of the Year Damion Thornton, LSC Sixth Man of the Year Zach Toussaint and LSC Co-Coach of the Year Tom Brown.
