UT Tyler outlasts Lubbock Christian in double overtime to claim South Central Regional title

No. 5 seed UT Tyler outlasted No. 7 seed Lubbock Christian 67-64 in double overtime to win the all-Lone Star Conference NCAA Division II Women's Basketball South Central Regional championship game on March 13 at Junell Center in San Angelo, Texas.
 
The Patriots (27-7) advanced to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight, to be held March 20 and 22 at St. Joseph Civic Arena in St. Joseph, Mo. Lubbock Christian’s season ended at 24-11.
 
UT Tyler freshman guard Meagan Mendazona, who had a double double in the title game (game-high 18 points and 11 rebounds) was named the regional’s Most Valuable Player. She was joined on the all-tourney team by Ella Bradley and Lovisa Hevinder. LCU was represented by Maci Maddox and Grace Foster.
