The second half of the 2024 Lone Star Conference volleyball schedule starts with a pair of matches on Wednesday before a full slate of games on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 23, 24-25).  …  West Texas A&M pushed its win streak to nine games as it took sole possession of first place in the LSC standings with a sweep of UT Tyler last Saturday (Oct. 19).  … UTT moved into a two-way tie at second with Angelo State, winners of its last five games. Both are 7-1 in conference and ahead of Texas Woman's, DBU and Lubbock Christian all tied in fourth at 6-2. TWU carries a six-game win streak and ASU a five-game win streak.  …  Six teams are jammed in the seventh through 11th spots in the standings and looking to push toward securing one of eight spots in the LSC Tournament.

LSC Volleyball Tournament: November 21-22-23 hosted by the No.1 seed.
 
NCAA Volleyball Championship. The first regional rankings will be released Nov. 6 (alphabetical) followed by numerical lists on Nov. 13 and Nov.20.  …  The 2024 Division II national tournament bracket is set for announcement on Nov. 25 via online selection show at 6:30 p.m. CT. Tournament play begins with Regionals Dec. 5-8 at campus sites and concludes in Sioux City, S.D., and the Dec. 12-14 Finals.

OFFENSIVE
Currie Marusak, West Texas A&M, Outside Hitter, Jr., Health Science, Amarillo, Texas
Outside hitter Currie Marusak led the West Texas A&M offense in back-to-back road sweeps vs. DBU and UT Tyler to remain unbeaten in LSC play and alone atop the standings. Over the two matches, Marusak hit .375 with four errors in 48 swings connecting for 22 kills (3.67 per set), including 12 kills behind a .579 attack against #25 DBU. The junior added eight digs and 22 points for the weekend.
 
DEFENSIVE
Luna França, Texas Woman's, Libero, Sr., General Studies, Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brasil
Senior Luna França guided Texas Woman's defensive performances in 3-1 wins vs. St. Edward's and St. Mary's. The senior libero, who recorded wo service aces, averaged 5.63 digs as TWU held the two opponents to a combined .127 hit percentage, including the team's second lowest hitting percentage vs. LSC opponents this season -- .092 vs. SEU – and extended its win streak to six matches.
 
SETTER
Kayton Genenbacher, Lubbock Christian, Setter, Sr., Biology, Lubbock, Texas
Kayton Genenbacher was the engine behind the Lubbock Christian attack, recording 74 assists (12.33/set) in straight set wins over UT Permian Basin and Sul Ross State. The senior posted her ninth double-double of the season with 39 assists and 14 digs against UT Permian Basin and followed with 35 assists against Sul Ross State. Genenbacher's play in the 5-1 offense facilitated a balanced LCU offense that hit .315 in the two matches.
 
FRESHMAN
Chloe Jones, Oklahoma Christian, Outside Hitter, Fr., Nursing, Waukee, Iowa
Outside hitter Chloe Jones was solid all-around as Oklahoma Christian posted a 3-0 week, including key LSC five-set wins vs. Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M International. The freshman recorded a double-double in each of the three matches, totaling 42 kills (3.23/set), 56 digs (4.31/set), eight blocks with 48 total points. In both LSC contests, Jones finished with 20-plus digs.
