Western Oregon, Angelo State, Texas A&M-Kingsville and No. 11 Central Washington all earned Week 5 Lone Star Conference football wins and improved to 3-0 in league play. Sul Ross State and West Texas A&M had byes. To read the recaps, click here.
 
With their victories, TAMUK and CWU now have four-game winning streaks, while WOU and ASU have each won three straight.
 
Eastern New Mexico has the league’s top offensive at 441.6 yards per game, followed by CWU (433.2 ypg) and UT Permian Basin (418 ypg). CWU owns the top defense, allowing just 229.2 yards per game. UTPB (268.3), ASU (286.8) and TAMUK (292.4) are also holding opponents under 300 yards per game.
 
Week 6 will feature all 10 teams in action on Saturday, highlighted by ASU at TAMUK (6 p.m. CT kickoff) to see who will improve to 4-0 in league play. CWU hosts defending conference champion UTPB (8 p.m. CT kickoff) in a battle of the league’s two teams that reached the playoffs last season.

LONE STAR CONFERENCE FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OFFENSIVE
Braeden Fuller, Angelo State, QB, Jr., Kinesiology, Floresville, Texas
Angelo State junior quarterback Braeden Fuller helped lead a 36-7 road win over UT Permian Basin by rushing for three touchdowns and passing for another. Fuller, who wins the league’s top weekly offensive award for the second time this season, had 146 rushing yards on 15 carries and 112 passing yards without an interception. His longest TD run was an 86-yard dash early in the third quarter to make it a 22-0 game. It was the longest rush in the LSC this season. Fuller accounted for at least one TD in all but the first quarter as the Rams won their third straight contest.
 
DEFENSIVE
Kenton Allen, Angelo State, LB, Sr., Computer Science, Riverside, Calif.
Angelo State senior linebacker Kenton Allen had a game-high 12 tackles and scored a touchdown on a fumble return to help lead the Rams to a 36-7 road win over UT Permian Basin. Allen’s score was the first of the game as he went five yards into the end zone. All but two of his tackles were solo. Allen and company kept the Falcons out of the end zone in the first three quarters and allowed just 277 yards of total offense. Allen and the Rams have allowed just one TD over their last eight quarters and won three straight games.
 
SPECIAL TEAMS
Keaton Emmett, Western Oregon, K/P, Fr., Undecided, Lake Oswego, Ore.
Western Oregon freshman kicker/punter Keaton Emmett accounted for 10 points, had a 48-yard punt and handled kickoff duties to help lead the Wolves to a 34-10 road win over Western New Mexico. Emmett made two field goals – a long of 42 yards that made it a 10-0 game in the second quarter – and nailed all four extra-point attempts. He had four touchbacks as the Wolves won their third straight game
