Lone Star Conference volleyball moves to the postseason phase of the 2024 season starting with the LSC Volleyball Tournament scheduled Thursday through Saturday. Tournament host is #1 seed West Texas A&M. Joining the field is #2 Angelo State, #3 UT Tyler, #4 Texas Woman's, #5 DBU, #6 St. Mary's, #7 Oklahoma Christian and #8 Lubbock Christian.

NCAA Volleyball Championship. The second set of regional rankings was posted on Nov. 13 with West Texas A&M taking the top spot among South Central Region teams. Angelo State, Texas Woman's, DBU, UT Tyler, St. Mary's and UT Permian Basin each claimed places in the rankings which are used in determining national tournament berths. ... The 2024 Division II national tournament bracket will be announced Nov. 25 via NCAA.com online selection show at 6:30 p.m. CT. Tournament play begins with Regionals Dec. 5-8 at campus sites and concludes in Sioux City, S.D., and the Dec. 12-14 Finals.

OFFENSIVE

Emma Becker was dominant during the final regular season weekend as West Texas A&M claimed the LSC championship with a perfect 16-0 mark. The junior outside hitter registered 32 kills on 55 swings with seven attack errors to hit .455 combined against Midwestern State and Texas Woman's. Becker had 17 kills in the four-set win over MSU followed by a15-kill afternoon vs. TWU.She added three digs and five blocks for 35.0 points, averaging 5.00 per set.
DEFENSIVE
Ayanna Jackson, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Middle Blocker, Sr., Kinesiology, San Antonio, Texas
Texas A&M-Kingsville middle blocker Ayanna Jackson posted 11 blocks and played a key role in holding both St. Edwards and Sul Ross State to a combined .016 hitting percentage in a pair of wins for the Javelinas. The senior moved into second place on the TAMUK all-time total blocks list. Jackson added 22 kills over the wins with 3 digs and a pair of service aces.
SETTER
Cali Nims, St. Mary's, Setter, Sr., Exercise & Sport Science, Corpus Christi, Texas
Senior setter Cali Nims directed the St. Mary's offense in a five-set win vs. Texas A&M International and a sweep of rival St. Edward's to close the regular-season. Against TAMIU, Nims recorded her 16th double-double of the year with 51 assists and 11 digs as the Rattlers offense hit .255. She posted 36 assists, eight digs, three kills, and a pair of aces as St. Mary's hit .244 vs. SEU.
FRESHMAN
Ashlee Macias, UT Permian Basin, Outside Hitter, Fr., Human Performance, El Paso, Texas
UT Permian Basin outside hitter Ashlee Macias put together all-around performances in road wins vs. Oklahoma Christian and Cameron, totaling 18 digs, 14 kills and seven service aces in the two matches. In the five-set win vs. Oklahoma Christian, Macias recorded five kills, a career-high three aces and reached double-digits digs for a third straight match in a row with 10. Macias was a force vs. Cameron, finishing with four aces, eight digs and nine kills behind a .350 hit percentage.
