The LSC Indoor Track and Field Championships are set for Feb. 21-22 at Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, N.M. West Texas A&M is the defending conference champion on the men’s and women’s side. The Buffs have won four in a row, while the Lady Buffs have prevailed 11 consecutive years.
The NCAA Division II Championship will be held March 13-15 at Fall Creek Pavilion at Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Ind.

MEN’S TRACK
Adrian Legarreta, West Texas A&M, Sr., Sports and Exercise Science, Friona, Texas
West Texas A&M senior Adrian Legarreta posted an NCAA Division II provisional time of 13:59.89 in the 5,000 meter race at the Sharon Colyear-Danvile Season Opener in Boston, Mass. Legarreta finished seventh in his heat at the Division I-heavy meet. His time ranks 10th in Division II.
MEN’S FIELD
Mark Burdin, Angelo State, So., Business Management, Kazan, Russia
Angelo State sophomore Mark Burdin scored 5,177 points to finish fourth in the heptathlon at the Boo Rogers Combined Events in Pittsburg, Kan. Burdin’s total earned an NCAA Division II provisional mark and slotted him third in the country. He was the top finisher in shot put (14.78m, 48-6) and came in fourth in high jump (1.94m, 6-4.5).
WOMEN’S TRACK
Kalkidan Vincendeau, West Texas A&M, Sr., Sports and Exercise Science, Bordeaux, France
West Texas A&M senior Kalkidan Vincendeau posted an NCAA Division II provisional time of 9:28.82 in the 3,000 meter race at the Sharon Colyear-Danvile Season Opener in Boston, Mass. Vincendeau finished 10th in her heat and was the second fastest Division II runner in the Division I heavy field of 139. Her time is also the second fastest in all of Division II.
WOMEN’S FIELD
Kylie Frush, Angelo State, Jr., Pre-Nursing, Glen Rose, Texas
Angelo State junior Kylie Frush scored 3,464 points to finish fourth overall in the pentathlon at the Boo Rogers Combined Events in Pittsburg, Kan. Frush’s total was an NCAA Division II Provisional mark and ranks 12th in the entire country. She was the top long jumper in the field (5.58m, 18-3.75) and runner-up in the 800-meter run (2:23.63).
