The spring segment of the 2023-24 Lone Star Conference golf seasons got underway in Laredo, Texas, with seven women's and four men's conference teams competing in the Jack Brown Memorial Tournament (Feb. 5-6). West Texas A&M won the women's tournament while St. Mary's was first in the men's tournament  ...  Play picks up this week with six LSC teams at the men's Houston Classic (Feb. 12-13). Western New Mexico is the lone women's team pin action, playing the RJGA Cactus Thaw in El Paso Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 12-13).

Aidan Fitzgerald, St. Mary's, Sr., Management, Albany, N.Y. (Albany Academy for Boys)
Senior Aidan Fitzgerald shot one-under par 71 in round one and followed with a 76 in round two for a 36-hole 147 to tie Hayden Bowman at three-over-par atop the individual leaderboard at the Jack Brown Memorial Invitational (Feb. 5-6). Fitzgerald was one of only four golfers to shoot an eagle in the tournament, doing so on hole 13 in the first round. The Albany, N.Y., native also recorded five birdies and 21 pars throughout the 36 holes for his first career title.
 
WOMEN
Anna Nomrowski, West Texas A&M, Gr., MBA, Neuss, Germany
Anna Nomrowski earned medalist honors in leading West Texas A&M to victory at the Jack Brown Memorial (Feb. 5-6) The Neuss, Germany native carded a one-over par 73 in the opening round, before firing a six-under par 66 in the final round to win the tournament (-5 / 139). Nomrowski's second-round score matches the second-lowest single-round score in West Texas A&M history and only one of two Lady Buffs to shoot 66 or lower.
