The 2024 Lone Star Conference tennis season is 10 weeks in.
 
On the men’s side, Midwestern State (9-7 overall) is the only remaining unbeaten team in league play at 4-0. The Mustangs topped UT Permian Basin (16-3, 6-1 LSC) 4-3 on April 6 in Midland, Texas in a battle of league unbeatens. MSU has won five straight matches, while UT Tyler (13-4, 4-1 LSC) has won three in a row.
 
For the women, MSU is also the only unbeaten team in LSC play. The Mustangs (14-3, 6-0 LSC) have prevailed in seven straight matches. Cameron (9-6, 6-1 LSC) has won six in a row.
 
LSC tennis is comprised of nine men’s teams and 11 women’s squads.

UT Tyler is the defending men’s regular season champion, while Cameron won the 2023 women’s regular season crown.
 
The LSC Tennis Championship will be held April 25-27 at Arlington Tennis Center in Arlington, Texas. The men’s and women’s single-elimination events will feature the top eight teams based on conference standings. Cameron is the defending tournament champion on the men’s side, while St. Mary’s hoisted the women’s tournament trophy for the women.

LONE STAR CONFERENCE TENNIS PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

MEN’S
Germano Setti, Midwestern State, So., Business, Carazinho, Brazil / Colegio Saber
Setti won a pair of matches at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles to help Midwestern State to a 2-0 week, including a 4-3 road win over UT Permian Basin in a battle of two nationally-ranked teams unbeaten in league play. Setti prevailed 6-3, 6-1 against UTPB and teamed with Killian Guillou in doubles. Setti has a five-match winning streak in singles and helped the Mustangs also reach five straight victories.
 
WOMEN’S
Eva Schwartz, Angelo State, Sr., International Business, L'isle-Sur-La-Sorgue, France
Schwartz topped the No. 10 player in the nation, 0-6, 6-3, 6-1 and then teamed with Avery Durham to take down the No. 13 double team in the nation, 6-0, helping Angelo State secure a 4-3 road win over St. Mary’s. In a rematch of last year’s LSC tournament title match, Schwartz’s No. 2 singles win tied the match at 3-3. Schwartz and Durham, who are ranked No. 23 in the country, played No. 1 doubles. Schwartz’s play helped the Rambelles to their 13th win over their last 14 matches.
