Lone Star Conference women's basketball teams take a break from their division opponents and play a pair of cross division games on Thursday and Saturday (Jan. 23, 25). The division schedule resumes with the January-to-February turn of the calendar January 30-February 2.

The 2024-25 season standings as of January 18 and based on the overall LSC record – games vs. all conference opponents – have three teams tied for the top spot, all with 10-1 (.909) marks: Lubbock Christian, Texas Woman's and UT Tyler. Seeding for the eight-team LSC Tournament is based on overall standings (22 games). The East and West Division winners automatically qualify for the LSC Tournament but are not guaranteed a top two seed.

In the East and West Division standings, a bit of breathing room was created after the recent three-week stretch of intra-division play. LCU remains undefeated atop the West Division (7-0 LSC West) distancing itself from second-place ASU (5-2 LSC West) with wins at UT Permian Basin and ASU. East Division leader UT Tyler (7-0 LSC East) and second-place Texas Woman's (6-1 LSC East) each posted a road sweep vs. Texas A&M International and Texas A&M-Kingsville, adding a bit of separation from TAMUK (5-2 LSC East).  ...  St. Edward's. St. Mary's and West Texas A&M posted 2-0 records the past week. SEU and StMU collected road wins against Oklahoma Christian and Cameron while WT upended Western New Mexico and Sul Ross State.

Eastern New Mexico notched a pair of conference season-bests in its home win vs. SRSU, scoring 98 points and gathering 25 steals. Greyhounds Nataya Lockett and Tatiana Platonova had five steals apiece while Lockett scored a game-high 23 points. ... Midwestern State's Kerbie Cash finished with eight assists in the Mustang win at UT Permian Basin. ... ASU's Majik Esquivel joined the 30-point club, tallying 31 points in the Rambelle's win over MSU.
