LSC Highlights Golfers to Watch in Spring 2025

 
Lone Star Conference golf teams and players enjoyed success during fall semester play and now shift focus to the spring as the conference announced its Golfers to Watch for the championship segment of the 2024-25 men's and women's golf season.
 
A total 46 golfers – 24 from the 12 women's teams and 22 from the 11 men's teams – were nominated by their institution to the LSC preseason players to watch list which includes individuals who are ranked nationally and regionally heading into the spring.
 
LSC Golf -- Spring 2025
 
Men: Oklahoma Christian and West Texas A&M, NCAA Division II national semifinalists in 2024, lead six LSC teams ranked in the Top 50 heading into the spring. OC is at #3 followed by Midwestern State (31); UT Tyler (35); Cameron (38); defending conference champion DBU (45); and WT (47). All six LSC teams are among the Top 10 in the South Central Region. ... Oklahoma Christian teammates Oskari Nikku and Leandro Mihaich rank #7 and #10, respectively, in the mid-year Division II national individual ranking.
 
Women: The spring season opens with defending LSC champion DBU ranked #5 and 2024 NCAA Division II national runner-up St. Mary's at #10. Five teams join the two in the Top 50 rankings: West Texas A&M (13), UT Tyler (15), Midwestern State (27), Texas A&M International (38), and Angelo State (48). Six of the Top 10 West Region teams are from the LSC. ... At the mid-year mark, DBU sophomore Ella Cheek ranks ninth in the Division II national individual rankings. She is joined by Gam Songprasert, WT (12); Arnia Taguines, UTT (18); Gracie Grant, DBU (24); and Libby Kilbride, St. Mary's (30), in the individual Top 30.

Men's & Women's Clipp'd National and Regional Rankings
 
The 2025 LSC Golf Championship Tournaments will be held at the Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club in Rockwall, Texas. The men's competition rounds are set for April 14-15-16 with the women's competition rounds following on April 21-22-23. LSC Championship format includes 54-hole stroke play with four teams advancing to medal play.
 
The women's NCAA Division II postseason starts with the West Regional May 5-7 hosted by West Texas A&M at La Paloma Golf Course in Amarillo, Texas. The Championship finals are scheduled May 13-17 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.
 
Men's NCAA Division II postseason opens with the Super Regional May 8-10 in Riverside, Calif., hosted by Cal State San Bernardino. The Championship final is scheduled May 19-23 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., at the PGA National Resort.
