Western Oregon upsets No. 13 UT Permian Basin, 31-28: Jordan McCarty had a 10-yard touchdown run with 1:55 to play and Malcolm Liufau forced a fumble that was recovered by Tamaaulelei Ma’alona with 25 seconds left as Western Oregon upset No. 13 UT Permian Basin 31-28 at McArthur Field. It was WOU’s first win over a ranked opponent since 2016. WOU built a 17-7 lead at halftime. UTPB took its first lead, 28-24, with 6:46 left in the game thanks to a Kanon Gibson 14-yard TD run. McCarty finished 19-for-28 passing for 166 yards and two TDs – one to Jermaine Land and the other to Keyvaun Eady – and added 75 yards on the ground. Liufau also had an interception, one sack and two tackles for a loss of eight yards. Aden Murphy had a game-high nine tackles. Gibson was 28-for-40 for 348 yards and two TDs and ran for 84 yards and two more scores. Kylin Mathis (eight catches) and TJ McKenzie (six catches, one TD) both went for over 100 yards receiving. UTPB’s defense was led by Tristan Exline, who had eight tackles – 2.5 for loss.

No. 21 Angelo Stats bounces back for 48-28 win over Midwestern State: No. 21 Angelo State bounced back in dominant fashion, rolling to a 48-28 homecoming victory over Midwestern State at 1st Community Credit Union Field at LeGrand Stadium. With the win, ASU snapped a two-game skid. The Rams scored two special teams TDs – a punt blocked by Caine Elory and recovered in the end zone by Eugene Liger and a 45-yard kickoff return by Alan Dobbins. Braeden Fuller threw for three touchdowns and Cameron Dischler ran for 154 yards on 10 carries to lead ASU’s offense. Liger also had an interception and Owen Seaver had a sack and 3.5 tackles for a loss to 16 yards. Demonte Green had six catches for 108 yards and a TD and Case Peacock had three catches for 91 yards and a score to fuel MSU’s offense. Jorge Mendoza averaged 40.3 yards on six punts for the Mustangs. ASU led 28-10 at halftime.

West Texas A&M claims Wagon Wheel with 43-14 victory over Eastern New Mexico: West Texas A&M scored on the first play of the game and never looked back as they raced past rival Eastern New Mexico 43-14 in the 37th annual Wagon Wheel Game at Bain-Schaeffer Buffalo Stadium. It was the third consecutive win for WT. RJ Martinez connected with Drew Zamar for a 66-yard TD to give the Buffs the early lead. They built a 28-7 lead by halftime thanks to three more TD passes from Martinez, who finished 26 of 43 for 424 yards and five TD tosses. Zamar had three catches for 99 yards and Zach Phillips caught two TDs. Jamel Acosta-Lewis (11) and Miles Hills (10) had double digit tackles and Cam Manahan had an interception for WT. ENMU’s offense was led by Demarion Finch (27 rushes for 129 yards and two TDs) and Gerry Gomez (nine catches). Matthew Quartieri had nine tackles – seven solo – and an INT for the Greyounds.

Western New Mexico outduels Sul Ross State for Golden Tumbleweed, 45-42: Connor Ackerley connected with Anthony Flores for an 18-yard touchdown pass with 2:40 to play to give Western New Mexico a 45-42 homecoming win over Sul Ross State in the Battle of the Golden Tumbleweed. Ackerely was 21 of 28 for 222 yards and three TDs, Zay Savoie ran for 12 yards on 14 carries and Davey Morales caught seven passes for 72 yards and a score. WNMU’s defense was led by Eddie Byrd III’s 67-yard interception return, Bradly Harris’ 10 tackles and Chris Lau-Benjamin’s seven tackles, one sack and one forced fumble. Kye Callicoatte passed for 200 yards and ran for 89 more – accounting for three TDs – and Jose Trevino rushed for 89 yards on 14 carries for SRSU, which led three different times in the second half. Darryl Minor Jr. had a game-high 18 tackles with a sack and a forced fumble to fuel the Lobos’ defense. Kyree Payton took back a kickoff 90 yards for a TD to give SRSU a 38-25 lead in third quarter.

No. 10 Central Washington holds on for 24-21 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville: Kennedy McGill ran for 107 yards and a touchdown and passed for another score as No. 10 Central Washington collected a 24-21 homecoming win over Texas A&M-Kingsville. In a game tied 7-7 at halftime, CWU used a 39-yard field goal by David Weber and both of McGill’s TDs in the second half to stay unbeaten in LSC play at 5-0. TAMUK, which led 14-10 in the third quarter, was unable to convert on fourth down from its own 34-yard line with 1:33 to play. CWU’s defense was led by Brett McCalla (nine tackles), Mike Roberson (interception) Logan Lishermess (sack) and Matulino Masunu (sack). Jack Turner threw for 300 yards and King Phillips caught nine passes for 119 yards and two scores. Kerry North had a game-high 10 tackles and Julian Payne had nine stops for the Javelinas.
