Western Oregon pulls away for 41-20 win over Western New Mexico: Western Oregon forced six turnovers and scored 21 unanswered points in the second quarter to pull away for a 41-20 victory over Western New Mexico at McArthur Field. With the scored tied 13-13 with 13:13 left in the second quarter, Jermaine Land ran for a six-yard touchdown to give the Wolves a lead they would not relinquish. Malik Rose followed up with a 59-yard interception return for a score on WNMU’s next drive. Tamirr Bullock, Tyler Copeland and Andrew Soles also had INTs for WOU, which got fumble recoveries from Elijah Pula and Joseph Northcutt. Pula also had nine tackles and forced a fumble. Carson Workman ran for three TDs for WOU. Cole Lalama (11 tackles) and Joshua Hopphaus (10 tackles and a sack) led WNMU’s defensive effort. Midwestern State’s big fourth quarter leads to 31-24 comeback win over Texas A&M-Kingsville: Midwestern State used an 18-point fourth quarter to complete a 31-24 comeback win over Texas A&M-Kingsville at Memorial Stadium. It was the first victory of the season for the Mustangs, who got a 69-yard punt return for a touchdown from Cedonyae Lott with 2:18 to play to break a 24-24 tie. MSU also got a 28-yard field goal from Kohen Maroney and a 15-yard TD pass from Sean Jastrab to Malakai Matthews. Jastrab was 16 of 27 for 146 yards and two TDs. Maroney was 3-for-2 on field goals and Carter Revelle averaged 40.6 yards on seven punts. Defensively, Kam’rin Devault f(one sack) and Brycen Lewis forced fumbles. TAMUK’s Edward Chumley ran for 99 yards and a TD, while Julian Payne (nine tackles, an interception and half sack) and Eric Barnes (INT) led the defense. TAMUK led 21-13 entering the fourth quarter. No. 9 UT Permian Basin earns victory at No. 5 Angelo State in battle of unbeatens, 28-14: In a battle between two undefeated, top-10 nationally ranked teams, No. 9 UT Permian Basin scored on three straight drives to end the first half and sealed the game with a scoring drive on its final possession to clinch a monumental 28-14 victory over No. 5 Angelo State University at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field. UTPB improved upon its best start in program history at 5-0, while ASU saw its 14-game LSC winning streak come to an end. UTPB quarterback Kanon Gibson threw for 289 yards and a TD and ran for three scores. Euvoski Cunningham had seven solo tackles, Malik Allen had two sacks for a loss of nine yards and David Walker also had a sack to lead UTPB’s defense that surrendered just 252 yards and kept the Rams off the scoreboard in the first and fourth quarter. Braeden Fuller threw both of ASU’s TDs and Xavier Walton and Demetrias Charles both had interceptions on defense. Complete Release
 

 
West Texas A&M starts fast and rolls past Sul Ross State, 56-7: West Texas A&M scored 49 points in the first half on its way to a 56-7 homecoming victory over Sul Ross State in front of 7,234 fans at Bain-Schaeffer Buffalo Stadium. RJ Martinez was 19 of 22 passing for 332 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions and also ran for a score. All of the WT quarterback’s five TDs were in the first half. WT scored 35 points in the second quarter and finished with 612 yards of offense. Drew Cox made all eight of his extra-point attempts. Campbell Packebush had five tackles and 1.5 tackles for a loss of 10 yards to lead the Buffs’ defense. SRSU found the end zone on a Jose Trevino one-yard run in the fourth quarter. No. 16 Central Washington uses hot start to defeat Eastern New Mexico, 58-7: No. 16 Central Washington jumped out to an early lead and never looked back en route to a 58-7 win over Eastern New Mexico at Tomlinson Stadium. CWU started its scoring with a 55-yard touchdown pass from Kennedy McGill to Jalen Grabel on its first play from scrimmage. CWU went on to build a 52-0 lead at halftime. McGill threw for two scores and ran for two more. David Weber made three field goals – two over 40 yards – and connected on all seven extra-point attempts. CWU’s defense allowed just 196 yards and was led by Timothy Timoteo (nine tackles, one sack and one forced fumble), Tyler King (one sack) and Chris Dodson (interception). ENMU’s Cyrus Moore had a game-high 12 tackles. Complete Release
