Tournament Central

The eight-team field has been announced for the 2025 Lone Star Conference Volleyball Championship, which will be held Thursday-Saturday (Nov. 20-22) at Junell Center-Stephens Arena in San Angelo, Texas. Punching its tickets are Angelo State, Lubbock Christian, West Texas A&M, St. Mary’s, UT Tyler, Texas Woman’s, Oklahoma Christian and Texas A&M-Kingsville.

Angelo State (21-7 overall, 15-2 LSC) is the top seed and will serve as host of the 44th edition of the event after claiming a share of the LSC title on the final day of the regular season. It was the Rambelles’ 12th conference title in program history. ASU, which has won a league-best eight consecutive matches, is the defending LSC tournament champion and has raised the tourney trophy 11 times overall. The Rambelles are receiving votes in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll.

LSC co-champion Lubbock Christian (23-6, 15- 2 LSC) is the No. 2 seed. The Lady Chaps wrapped up their first LSC title in program history with a five-set win in the regular season finale, but lost the top seed tie-breaker due to ASU’s three-set victory against them on Nov. 8. LCU won a league-high 15 straight matches from Sept. 13-Oct. 25.

West Texas A&M (22-6, 14-3 LSC), which has won a record 18 LSC tournament titles, is the No. 3 seed. The Lady Buffs are ranked No. 13 in the latest national poll.

St. Mary’s (15-12 overall) is the No. 4 seed and UT Tyler (16-11 overall) is at No. 5. Both went 12-5 in league play, but the Rattlers won head-to-head in three sets on Oct. 28.

Texas Woman’s (18-10 overall) is the No. 6 seed and Oklahoma Christian (19-9 overall) is at No. 7. Each team went 11-6 in conference play, but the Pioneers won head-to-head in four sets on Nov. 6.

Texas A&M-Kingsville (18-9 overall) rounds out the field as the No. 8 seed.

Thursday’s quarterfinals will feature WT vs. TWU at 11 a.m., LCU vs. OC at 1:30 p.m., StMU vs. UTT at 4 p.m. and ASU vs. TAMUK at 6:30 p.m.
