Watch LSC Women’s Basketball live on FloCollege
All but one of the 17 Lone Star Conference women’s basketball teams have gotten their season underway. Of those, five are still unbeaten: No. 13 Lubbock Christian (4-0), Midwestern State (1-), Oklahoma Christian (2-0), St. Mary’s (2-0) and Sul Ross State (1-0).
LSC hoops action continues this week with four games Tuesday, one on Wednesday, four on Thursday, seven on Friday, nine on Saturday and one on Sunday. To see the league schedule, click

TWU is the favorite to win the LSC title this season, according the
preseason poll. West Texas A&M senior guard Kyla Kane was voted
preseason player of the year.
The LSC women’s basketball tournament will feature the top eight teams and is set for March 6-8 at
Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. Tickets will go on sale in February.
Due to being NCAA Division II provisional members, new league member UT Dallas and Sul Ross State are not eligible for the LSC tournament but are able to win the LSC regular season title and postseason awards.

Gabby Elliott, Texas Woman’s, F, Sr., Kinesiology, San Antonio, Texas
Texas Woman’s senior forward Gabby Elliott averaged 23.5 points, 10 rebounds and 3.5 blocks over a 2-0 week on the road against Colorado School of Mines and UCCS. Elliott, who wins the league’s top weekly award for the second consecutive week, shot 64 percent from the field and made 15 of 17 free-throw attempts. She also added two assists and one block. She set a career-high with 23 points against Mines, then topped it the next night against UCCS with 24. Elliott also set a career high with four blocks against UCCS.
DEFENSIVE
Raynne Malik, St. Mary’s, F, So., Biology, London, Ontario, Canada
St. Mary’s sophomore forward Raynne Malik averaged 11.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks to fuel a 2-0 start to the season against South Dakota Mines and Black Hills State at the South Central Regional Crossover in Rapid City, S.D. Malik recorded one of her four blocks with two seconds remaining to preserve a 61-58 win over Black Hills State. Over the two games, she also averaged 8.5 points and added a pair of steals and assists. Fifteen of her boards came on the defensive end. Her play also helped the Rattlers to a 2-0 start for the first time since the 2016-17 season.
