LSC Indoor Track and Field Release - Week 5

Lone Star Conference indoor track and field athletes have compiled 115 NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks – 57 men and 58 women. To see the conference’s men’s and women’s top performance lists, click here.

The 2025 LSC Indoor Track and Field Athletes to Watch List included 17 men and 17 women. To see the list, click here.
 
The LSC Indoor Track and Field Championships are set for Feb. 21-22 at Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, N.M. West Texas A&M is the defending conference champion on the men’s and women’s side. The Buffs have won four in a row, while the Lady Buffs have prevailed 11 consecutive years.
 
The NCAA Division II Championship will be held March 13-15 at Fall Creek Pavilion at Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Ind.
 
 
LONE STAR CONFERENCE INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MEN’S TRACK
Nirmit Dahiya, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Fr., Kinesiology, New Delhi, India
Texas A&M-Kingsville freshman Nirmit Dahiya finished runner-up in the mile and anchored the winning Distance Medley Relay Team at the FasTrak Athletix Collegiate Indoor Last Chance Invitational in Houston. Dahiya posted a 4:19.61 in the mile and helped secure a 10:43.42 mark in the DMR.
 
MEN’S FIELD
Ronald Grueso Mosquera, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Sr., Communications, Cali, Columbia
Texas A&M-Kingsville senior Ronald Grueso Mosquera took gold in the shot put at the FasTrak Athletix Collegiate Indoor Last Chance Invitational in Houston. His NCAA Division II provisional throw went 59’5” (18.11m) – good for fifth in the entire country and tops in the conference. Mosquera also finished fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 59’4.75” (18.10m), which is also tops in the LSC.
 
WOMEN’S TRACK
Cynai Christopher, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Sr., Kinesiology, Missouri City, Texas
Texas A&M-Kingsville senior Cynai Christopher won the 200 meters with a 24.20 at the FasTrak Athletix Collegiate Indoor Last Chance Invitational in Houston. Her NCAA Division II provisional time ranks 12th in the entire country and tops in the LSC. Christopher also finished runner-up in the 60 meters with a 7.64.
 
WOMEN’S FIELD
Afaf Benhadja, Texas A&M-Kingsville, So., Kinesiology, Algiers, Algeria
Texas A&M-Kingsville sophomore Afaf Benhadja took gold in the long jump and bronze in the high jump at the FasTrak Athletix Collegiate Indoor Last Chance Invitational in Houston. Benhadja had a long jump distance of 18’5.25” (5.62) and high jump mark of 5’5” (1.65m).
