Lone Star Conference teams move to the second half of September with three men’s and a pair of women’s tournaments opening Monday (Sept. 22) and featuring conference teams.
 
LSC Women
Five teams head to Corinth, Texas and Oakmont Country Club for the DBU Classic (Sept. 22-23). Host DBU is joined by St. Mary’s, Midwestern State, UT Permian Basin and UT Tyler for the 54-hole tournament.  ...  Western New Mexico will be represented by individual players at the ENMU-Ruidoso High Country Shootout at The Links at Sierra Blanca (Sept. 22-23).
 
Week Two:
  • Oklahoma Intercollegiate (36 holes, Sept. 15-16): LSC teams went one-two-three with Cameron taking the top spot by three strokes over UT Dallas and besting UT Permian Basin by 13 strokes. CU’s Maria Jose Savoca shot a 1-under 70 final round to claim the individual title (144-74, 70) by two strokes over UTD’s Molly Woods (146-72, 74). Lakshita Pragnya was the top UTPB finisher, carding a 36-hole 148 (74, 74) tying for fifth on the player board.
  • RJGA Shootout at Estrella (36 holes, Sept. 15-16): Lubbock Christian and Texas A&M-Kingsville finished four-five and Western New Mexico 10th in the 14-team field filled with South Central/West Super Region teams. Zoe Dean (TAMUK), Nadalie Cannell (LCU) and Falyn Lackey (WNMU) each carded a 146 over the two rounds to tie for sixth on the player board.
  • Travis Roy Memorial Invite (36 holes, Sept. 15-16): A trio of Top 20 individuals led by Ebba Novdin’s sixth-place, 4-over 148 (75, 73) powered Texas A&M International to a runner-up team finish (610-309, 301). Kiara Montebon was 14th (153-74, 79) and Margret Nyamukondiwa 18th (154-77, 77).
  • Folds of Honor Challenge (54 Holes, Sept. 15-17): West Texas A&M’s Kara Holm carded a 3-over 216 (71, 73, 72) to tie at fourth, while DBU duo Gracie Grant posted a 5-over 218 (73, 70, 75) and Ella Cheek a 6-over 219 (77, 70, 72) finishing seventh and eighth, respectively. DBU finished third on the team board (893-305, 294, 294) two strokes ahead of fourth-place WT (895-298, 301, 296).
 
LSC Women in the Polls . . .
  • Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll / Sept. 5 (Preseason): #1 DBU; #8 West Texas A&M; #12 St. Mary's; #17 UT Tyler; #22 Midwestern State. Next Poll Sept. 26.

LSC Men
Three tournaments featuring LSC players and teams get underway on Monday (Sept. 22-23). Cameron, Lubbock Christian, Western New Mexico and West Texas A&M are scheduled at the San Juan Intercollegiate in Montrose, Colo., and Bridges Golf and Country Club.  ...  Midwestern State, UT Dallas and UT Tyler compete at the Dunning Invitational at the Mossy Oak GC in West Point, Miss.  ...  WNMU will be represented by individual players at the High Country Shootout in Ruidoso, N.M.
 
Week Two
  • Travis Roy Memorial Invite (36 holes, Sept. 15-16): St. Mary’s claimed fourth (588-298, 290) and TAMIU 11th (631-309, 301) with four LSC players posting Top 25 individual finishes led by StMU’s Guillaume Paquette who shot 145 (72, 73) tying at 11th.
  • Folds of Honor Challenge (54 holes, Sept. 15-17): Both Jagger Cole and Brecken Franklin carded 3-over 216 to share the 10-spot on the player leaderboard, pushing DBU to fifth among teams (875-296, 292, 287).

WOMEN
Maria Savoca, Cameron, Jr., Sports and Exercise Science, Cochabamba, Bolivia
Maria Savoca claimed her second consecutive individual win at the Oklahoma Women's Intercollegiate in leading the Aggies to the team title. The junior carded a 144 for the two rounds, opening with 3-over 74 then coming back with a 1-under 70 in round two to take top honors as the Aggies overcame a five-stroke deficit to take the team title by three strokes.

MEN
Guillaume Paquette, St. Mary’s So., Management, La Minerve, Quebec
Sophomore Guillaume Paquette recorded a 36-hole 145 (72, 73) and card a 1-over-par 145 at the Travis Roy Memorial in Sheridan, Wyo. Paquette, who tied at 11th on the individual list, was the top finisher for St. Mary’s who was fourth in its season-opening tournament.
