Lone Star Conference Volleyball league play began last week, and six teams are still unbeaten: No. 22 Angelo State, Lubbock Christian, Midwestern State, Texas A&M-Kingsville and UT Tyler.
LCU (10-4 overall, 2-0 LSC) has the top winning streak in the league at six matches. MSU (8-2, 2-0 LSC) is right behind at five in a row. TAMUK (11-2, 3-0) and UTT (6-6, 2-0 LSC) have each won three straight, followed by ASU (8-5, 2-0 LSC).
Conference play continues this week with two matches Tuesday (Sept. 30), two matches Thursday (Oct. 2), six matches Friday (Oct. 3) and nine more Saturday (Oct. 4).
ASU junior outside hitter Madi Parrish was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s first
national player of the week of the 2025 season. She is just the second player in LSC history to win the award more than once (also
2024), joining West Texas A&M’s Sarah Butler, who won three times (1997, 1998 and 1999).
ASU is the favorite to win the LSC title this season, according the
preseason poll. Parrish, WT’s Taytum Stow and UTT’s Saige Rivera were voted
preseason players of the year.
The LSC volleyball tournament will feature the top eight teams and is set for Nov. 20-22 at the site of the No. 1 seed.
