Those two squads have won a combined 31 games in a row, led by WT’s 17 straight. The Lady Buffs topped No. 11 Lubbock Christian 70-59 on Jan. 15 to snap the Lady Chaps’ 22-game home winning streak.

Eastern New Mexico (12-5 overall) and UT Tyler (12-6) are just behind TWU and WT in the league standings at 8-1. UTT has won six games in a row.

LCU (15-3 overall) is now 7-2 in LSC play, while UT Permian Basin (6-4) and Texas A&M International (5-4) are also above .500 in league play. New league member UT Dallas is 4-4 in conference play.

Cameron and Oklahoma Christian have each won back-to-back games.

TWU is the favorite to win the LSC title this season, according the preseason poll. WT senior guard Kyla Kane was voted preseason player of the year.

The LSC women’s basketball tournament will feature the top eight teams and is set for March 6-8 at Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. Tickets will go on sale in February.

Due to being NCAA Division II provisional members, UTD and Sul Ross State are not eligible for the LSC tournament but are able to win the LSC regular season title and postseason awards.
