Lone Star Conference men’s and women’s indoor track and field athletes have recorded 131 NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks (57 men and 74 women).
Of those results, three are the top marks in the country: Angelo State men’s 4x400-meter relay team of Jahleel Armstrong, William Opare, Taylor Briggs and Rami Balti (3:07.92); WT’s Esther Conde-Turpin in the women’s pentathlon (4,341); and WT women’s 4x400-meter relay team of Blessing Akintoye, Abigail Abugire, Sandra Appiah and Asana Hamidu (3:39.59).
Two athletes have been named U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Athlete of the Weeks. Conde-Turpin
earned the honor on Dec. 15 and Balti
won the award on Feb. 2.
The
2026 LSC Indoor Track and Field Athletes to Watch List included 18 men and 20 women.
The
2026 LSC Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held Feb. 27-28 at
Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, N.M. All nine men’s teams and 11 women’s team can participate. West Texas A&M is the defending conference champion on both the men’s and women’s side. The Buffs have won seven titles overall, while the Lady Buffs have hoisted the trophy every year since 2014.
The NCAA Division II National Championship is set for March 13-14 at Virginia Beach Sports Complex in Virginia Beach, Va.

MEN’S TRACK
Reuel Campbell, Lubbock Christian, Sr., Information Systems Technology, Kingston, Jamaica
Lubbock Christian senior Reuel Campbell rose to the top of program record book twice and was part of three NCAA Division II provisional marks at the Jarvis Scott Invite in Lubbock, Texas. The school records were a 21.17 in the 200-meter and a 3:08.13 in the 4x400-meter relay with Daniel Sanez, Aden Soto and Chris Moffett. Campbell also posted a personal-best 46.78 in the 400 meters. The times rank 12th, 4th and 6th in the nation this season, respectively. In the 200 and 400, Campbell finished behind only Division I opponents.
MEN’S FIELD
Oyeyoni Oyewale-Johnson, West Texas A&M, Jr., Graphic Design, Accra Ghana
West Texas A&M junior Oyeyoni Oyewale-Johnson had NCAA Division II’s ninth best triple jump of the year with a 15.31 at the Jarvis Scott Invite in Lubbock, Texas. Oyewale-Johnson, who wins the conference’s top weekly track award for the second time this season, finished fourth – behind only Division I opponents. The jump was also a personal best and ranks inside the top 10 in program history.
WOMEN’S TRACK
Aerin Thompson, UT Tyler, Jr., Business Administration, Cayuga, Texas
UT Tyler junior Aerin Thompson was a part of a pair of NCAA Division II provisional times that both ranked inside the top 5 in the country at the Russ Jewett Indoor Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kan. She won gold medals in both the 400 meters with a 53.88 and the 4x400 meter relay with a 3:40.84. Her 400 time ranks fourth in the country and her 4x400 time with Kaylee Monthie, Kamaria Carr and Kymia Woodard is second. Thompson anchored the relay team. She also has the 37th ranked 200 time in the nation (24.51).
WOMEN’S FIELD
Kamryn Williams, Angelo State, Jr., Exercise Science, Wall, Texas
Angelo State junior Kamryn Williams recorded the best weight throw in the LSC this season with a 58-8.5 (17.89m) at the Jarvis Scott Invite in Lubbock, Texas. The NCAA Division II provisional and personal best throw ranks 21st in the entire country this year. She finished in the top 10 – behind only Division I opponents.
