Tournament History and Records
The 2026 Lone Star Conference Men’s Basketball Championship bracket is set following the conclusion of regular season games on Saturday (Feb. 28). The eight-team, single-elimination tournament will be held March 5, 7-8 at Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
The quarterfinals will take place Thursday, March 5, followed by the semifinals on Saturday, March 7, and the championship game on Sunday, March 8.
Teams who earned a spot in the LSC tournament are DBU, Eastern New Mexico, Lubbock Christian, Western New Mexico, St. Mary’s, St. Edward’s, West Texas A&M and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
DBU (24-6 overall, 18-2 LSC) earned its second consecutive regular season conference championship and the top seed in the LSC tournament. The No. 23-ranked Patriots are defending LSC tournament champions and winners of nine straight games. DBU opens up quarterfinal action on Thursday at 6 p.m. against No. 8 seed Texas A&M-Kingsville (13-15, 10-10 LSC). The Javelinas have won the event twice (1992 and 1996) and reached the title game in 2023.
Eastern New Mexico (24-4, 17-3 LSC) received the No. 2 seed. The Greyhounds, who are ranked No. 12 in the nation, have won 12 of their last 13 games. ENMU has won two LSC tournament titles, including a buzzer-beater victory in 2024. The Greyhounds open against No. 7 seed West Texas A&M (20-10, 12-8 LSC) at 2:30 p.m. CT Thursday. The Buffs have won a record 12 LSC tournament titles, including a stretch of six straight from 2018-2023.
Lubbock Christian (26-4, 17-3 LSC) will be the No. 3 seed. The No. 9-ranked Chaps enter on a six-game winning streak and have reached the LSC title game the past two years. LCU takes on No. 6 seed St. Edward’s (24-7, 13-7 LSC) in the event’s first game at Noon CT Thursday. The Hilltoppers, who are receiving votes in the national poll, have qualified for the LSC tournament every year since 2020 and reached the final in 2020 and 2021.
Western New Mexico (22-6, 22-6 LSC) is the No. 4 seed and making its first appearance at the LSC tournament. The Mustangs are also receiving votes in the Division II national poll for the first time in program history. WNMU makes its tourney debut Thursday at 8:30 p.m. CT against No. 5 seed St. Mary’s (20-8, 13-7 LSC). The Rattlers are in the event for a second straight year and fourth time in five seasons.
Saturday’s semifinals will feature the DBU/TAMUK winner against the WNMU/StMU winner at Noon CT and the ENMU/WT winner against the LCU/SEU victor at 3:30 p.m. CT. Sunday’s title game will tip at 1 p.m. CT.
The winner of the LSC tournament will earn the league’s automatic qualification to the 2026 NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball South Central Regional, set for March 13-17 at a site to be determined. The winner of the South Central Regional will advance to the national quarterfinals and semifinals, which will be held March 25 and 27, respectively, at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburg, Pa. The national championship game is set for April 5 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind.

The men share the Frisco stage with the LSC women’s basketball tournament. Women's quarterfinals are played all day Friday (March 7) followed by the semifinal games on Saturday (6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. CT) and the championship on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. CT.
