All 20 Lone Star Conference tennis teams (nine men’s and 11 women’s) have played at least two matches. The Lubbock Christian and UT Permian Basin women have already played a league match, with LCU prevailing.
 
Of all the LSC teams, only one is still unbeaten on the season: the Angelo State women at 7-0.

The LSC Tennis Championships are scheduled for April 30-May 2 at Arlington Tennis Center in Arlington, Texas. The men’s and women’s single-elimination tournaments will feature the top five men’s teams and top six women’s teams.
 
The NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s regionals will be held at campus sites from May 8-12, while nationals are set for May 19-24 at Surprise Tennis and Raquet Complex in Surprise, Ariz.
 
Due to being NCAA Division II provisional members, new league member UT Dallas and Sul Ross State are not eligible for the LSC or NCAA tournament but are eligible to win the LSC regular season title and postseason awards.

MEN’S SINGLES
Lucas Castillo Sanchez, St. Mary’s, So., Computer Information Systems, Wesley Chapel, Fla.
St. Mary’s sophomore Lucas Castillo Sanchez did not drop a single set against a ranked opponent from Colorado Mesa at No. 2 singles. He then moved to No. 1 singles and won against Washington (Mo.), 7-5, 6-4. Sanchez, who wins the league’s top singles award for the second straight week, fueled a pair of teams wins. He also added a doubles win against Colorado Mesa. Sanchez is now 9-1 in singles play on the season.
 
MEN’S DOUBLES
Phillip Gaurieder (Fr., Management, Karlsruhe, Baden-Wurttemberg Germany) & Joao D’Amorim (Fr., Management, Sao Paulo, Brazil), UT Permian Basin
UT Permian Basin’s Phillip Gaurieder and Joao D'Amorim went unbeaten at No. 3 doubles against Southwest Baptist and Hawaii Pacific. Their match against No. 38 Ouachita Baptist went unfinished. Gaurieder and D'Amorim won 6-2 against SBU and 6-3 over HPU. The duo is 3-1 on the season with three victories in a row.
 
WOMEN’S SINGLES
Andrea De Bernardo, Lubbock Christian, Jr., Caracas, Venezuela
Lubbock Christian junior Andrea De Bernardo went 2-0 at No. 1 singles to fuel a 2-0 week for the Lady Chaps, including a conference-opening win over UT Permian Basin. De Bernardo won 7-5. 6-3 against UTPB and 6-0, 6-2 against Colorado Mesa. She also helped record a pair of doubles wins. De Bernardo is uneaten in singles since Feb. 26.
 
WOMEN’S DOUBLES
Andrea De Bernardo (Jr., Caracas, Venezuela) & AnaMaria Zoric (So., Zubrovnik, Croatia), Lubbock Christian
Lubbock Christian’s Andrea De Bernardo and AnaMaria Zoric went undefeated in No. 1 singles to fuel a 2-0 week against UT Permian Basin and Colorado Mesa. In the LSC opener against UTPB, the duo won 7-5. Against Colorado Mesa, De Bernardo and Zoric prevailed 7-6 (7-2). The team is unbeaten this spring at 7-0 – all at the No. 1 line. De Bernardo and Zoric also went 2-0 on the week in singles.
