DBU graduate student
Julia Cargill has been named the Lone Star Conference Stunt Academic Athlete of the Year, leading the 12-person 2026 Stunt All-Academic Team announced by the Conference on Thursday (March 26).
Cargill is studying Ethical AI and Strategic Decision Sciences at DBU carrying a 4.0 grade-point average in the graduate degree program. She is a three-time LSC Stunt All-Academic Team member and has earned five LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll citations. A base from Andrews, Texas, Cargill participated in all 15 games this season to help the Patriots to their third straight No. 1 seeding in the LSC Stunt Championship, including a perfect 8-0 conference record.
Cargill is joined on the LSC Stunt All-Academic Team by teammate
Elle Tokarczyk;
Sanaa Johnson,
Courtney McClellan,
Sydnye Forde-Richins and
Riley Smith of St. Mary's;
Baylee Gard and
Kennedy Ward of Texas A&M-Kingsville; and
Julissa Cabrera,
Anna Cheek,
Tanith Chappie and
Brooke Speights from Texas Woman's.
Four of the 12 honored athletes have been named to the LSC Stunt All-Academic Team three times -- Cargill, Johnson Forde-Richins and Smith -- while Tokarczyk, McClellan and Speights are two-time LSC Stunt All-Academic Team members.
The Stunt All-Academic Team is selected by vote of the LSC sports information directors and recognizes student-athlete accomplishments in the classroom and in their sport. To be eligible for the All-Academic Team ballot, individuals must maintain a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and have reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
Cargill will be a candidate for the 2025-26 LSC Fred Jacoby Academic Athlete of the Year award to be announced in June.
