Score Updates on LSC Scoreboard
All Lone Star Conference tennis teams (nine men’s and 11 women’s) have played at least three league matches and only three are still unbeaten: the No. 10 Lubbock Christian men (13-5, 5-0 LSC), No. 25 Angelo State women (17-0, 6-0 LSC) and No. 27 UT Tyler women (14-5, 6-0 LSC).
ASU and UT Tyler face off Saturday (April 18) at 11 a.m. CT in San Angelo, Texas. The two squads have won a combined 25 matches in a row.
On the men’s side, both LCU and UT Tyler (17-4, 5-1 LSC) have won six matches in a row.

The
LSC Tennis Championships are scheduled for April 30-May 2 at
Arlington Tennis Center in Arlington, Texas. The men’s and women’s single-elimination tournaments will feature the top five men’s teams and top six women’s teams.
The NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s regionals will be held at campus sites from May 8-12, while nationals are set for May 19-24 at Surprise Tennis and Raquet Complex in Surprise, Ariz.
Due to being NCAA Division II provisional members, new league member UT Dallas and Sul Ross State are not eligible for the LSC or NCAA tournament but are eligible to win the LSC regular season title and postseason awards.

MEN’S SINGLES
Andres De Los Rios, Lubbock Christian, Sr., Finance, Madrid, Spain
Lubbock Christian senior Andres De Los Rios played a pivotal role in the No. 8-ranked Chaps’ 2-0 week that included a victory over an NCAA Division I team for the first time in program history. De Los Rios won twice at the No. 4 singles position and had the clinching match both times. He won 7-5, 6-3 against St. Mary’s and then 6-3, 5-7, 6-1 on the road against New Mexico State. The Chaps won 4-3 over New Mexico State to extend their winning streak to six matches.
MEN’S DOUBLES
Bruno Sanchez (Jr., Mechanical Engineering, Sabadell, Spain) & Juan David Duque (Sr., General Business, Cali, Colombia), Midwestern State
Midwestern State’s Bruno Sanchez and Juan David Duque went unbeaten at Line 1 doubles against No. 7 UT Tyler and UT Dallas. The duo topped UTD 6-3 before beating a ranked squad from UT Tyler (also 6-3). Sanchez and Duque have won three straight matches for the No. 19-ranked Mustangs.
WOMEN’S SINGLES
Yona Bancarel, UT Tyler, Jr., Economics, Toulouse, France
UT Tyler junior Yona Bancarel went 2-0 at No. 1 singles against Cameron and No. 28 Midwestern State. Bancarel, who wins the league’s top weekly singles award for the second time this season, had a thrilling three-set win (4-6, 6-3, 6-3) over a ranked opponent from MSU. Bancarel has now won seven straight singles matches for the No. 31-ranked Patriots. She also went 2-0 at No. 1 doubles against CU and MSU.
WOMEN’S DOUBLES
Yona Bancarel (Jr., Economics, Toulouse, France) & Natalia Gorzny (So., Management, Leander, Texas), UT Tyler
UT Tyler’s Yona Bancarel and Natalia Gorzny combined for a 2-0 record at No. 1 doubles against Cameron and No. 28 Midwestern State. The pair won 6-2 against CU and 6-1 against MSU. Bancarel and Gorzny have won five matches in a row. They also chipped in three singles wins as the No. 31-ranked Patriots extended their winning streak to eight matches.
