Academic Player of the Year
Jenna Goessel leads the six-player 2026 Lone Star Conference Women's Tennis All-Academic Team announced by the Conference on Wednesday (April 29).
Goessel is a senior at Cameron studying psychology and carries a 3.98 grade-point average. She has been recognized on both the Cameron University President’s and Dean’s Honor Rolls, has twice been named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete award recipient, and cited on the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll. On the court, Goessel plays at No. 1 singles and doubles where she has been nationally ranked during the 2026 season.
Joining Goessel on the six-member 2026 LSC Women's Tennis All-Academic Team are
Margaux Rene of Angelo State;
AnaMaria Zoric of Lubbock Christian;
Hattie Berend of Midwestern State;
Alessia Terlizzi of St. Mary’s; and
Natalia Gorzny of UT Tyler. All six academic team members are first-year honorees.
The Women’s Tennis All-Academic Team is selected by vote of the LSC sports information directors and recognizes student-athlete accomplishments in the classroom and in their sport. To be eligible for the All-Academic Team ballot, individuals must maintain a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and have reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
Goessel will be a candidate for the 2025-26 Lone Star Conference Fred Jacoby Academic Athlete of the Year award to be announced in June.
