LSC Baseball All-Academic team led by ASU’s Beck

Angelo State's Austin Beck has been named Academic Player of the Year and leads the nine-member Lone Star Conference Baseball All-Academic Team announced by the Conference on Wednesday (May 6).

Beck is a graduate student pursuing a master's degree in business administration posting a 4.0 grade-point average who also holds an undergraduate degree in exercise science from ASU. Beck is recipient of the ASU Male Athletic Excellence Award; is a two-time LSC Baseball All-Academic Team member (2023, '26); and has been recognized on the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll in numerous semesters. The Rams' second baseman, Beck is the first player in NCAA Division II history to eclipse 300 career runs scored and owns the Division record (308). He carries a team-best .370 batting average with 20 doubles and seven home runs while leading the LSC with 45 stolen bases. A member of the ASU 2023 Division II national champion team, Beck has earned All-American, All-South Central Region, and All-LSC honors during his collegiate career.

Joining Beck on the 2026 LSC Baseball All-Academic Team are Aaron Rubio from Lubbock Christian; Connor Freeman and Trevor Sebeck from St. Edward's; Garrett Brooks from St. Mary's; Nico Fernandez and Tag Pacot from UT Dallas; and Caden Copeland and Tanner Hornback from UT Tyler.

Sebek joins Beck as a repeat All-Academic Team honoree, three times named to the LSC team (2024, '25, '26). Additionally, all nine 2026 academic honorees carry career grade-point averages between 4.00 and 3.65 with four posting a 4.00 grade-point average.

The Baseball All-Academic Team is selected by vote of the LSC sports information directors and recognizes student-athlete accomplishments in the classroom and in their sport. To be eligible for the All-Academic Team ballot, individuals must maintain a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and have reached sophomore athletic eligibility.

Beck will be a candidate for the 2025-26 LSC Fred Jacoby Academic Athlete of the Year award to be announced in June.
