Tarleton State wrapped up its fourth Lone Star Conference Women’s Golf Championship with one-over 289 during Tuesday’s final round. The annual league event, which features 10 women's teams, was held at WinStar Golf Course in Thackerville, Okla.
The TexAnns (321-293-289=903) won their third straight title with a one-over par 289 during the final round. Katy Ward led the winning performance while finishing in third place at three-over 219. Carla Cooper finished tied for seventh with a championship record tying four-under 68 over the last 18 holes.
Central Oklahoma senior Cassy Knight (216) was the individual medalist for the second straight year at even par with a two-under 70 final round. Angelo’s State Raelyn Smith finished second at two-over 218.
Knight, Smith, Ward, West Texas A&M's Mollie Peterson and Sara Coe along with Northeastern State’s Whitney McAteer earned all-tournament honors by virtue of placing in the top five.
WTAMU finished second in the team standings with a team total of 907, while ASU was third with a 912 followed by UCO (922) and NSU (932).
